[...] In “Bush and the Cultivation of Fear” I argued that support for George W. Bush is built on fear. Even neocon-ism, which on the surface appears to be all about self-confidence and dominance and spreading American hegemony, is an ideology born of fear. I see neoconservatism as proactive isolationism. Foreigners scare us, so we’ll make them be more like us so they’re not so scary. [...]

I am going to run on the Green Party ticket in the CT 4th US Congressional District against incumbent Chris Shays and Dumbocrat Diane Farrell. I strongly suggest that Liberal, Progressive, rational, logical thinking people leave the Democrat Party (because its corrupt) and join the Green Party.

The entire House and Senate stinks. I exempt a few like Dennis Kucinich and VT Bernie Sanders.

How long will it take you folks to wake up and recognize you are watching a wrestling match. Its a fake fight. They are all crooks and liars. If you people keep expecting Dumbocrats to expose all the crooks you won't live that long.

Kerry, and Clinton both stink to high heaven. They both voted for Bush's war and they are both new there were no WMD. Remember Joe Wilson and his report that Saddam never tried to buy yellow cake uranium. I'm glad Kerry and Gore lost.

Let's get real. I have plenty to expose Senator Dodd because he's as corrupt as is Bush.

Nick -- yours is an ignorant way to view history. I don't defend the internment camps, but they did not exemplify the FDR Administration; they were an aberration. All public figures seem to have a black spot somewhere, and that was his. FDR caved in to pressure from other politicians and public opinion to approve the camps (they were not his idea), and yes, that was wrong. But you ignore the rest of his legacy.

Not even a nice try. Just dumb.

Your lawyerly update on the Robinson article misses the point entirely. FDR was a tremendous fearmonger. Exhibit A: INTERNMENT.

President Bush will only pass FDR in the "fear" area after all Muslims and Arabs in America are rounded up into concentration camps like the Japanese were.

Nice try.
