This is Much Ado About Nothing.

Because a company, with global experience obtained in the matter of port management, does in America what American companies do through out the world - BUT it happens to be Arab-owned, it creates a monumental stink.

If Americans want to put bin Laden and ALL Arabs into the same basket, then that is a consequence of their own perverse myopia. But, it does not help one iota to enhance the low ratings (that most of the world gives America) for its inability to understand Cultural Diversity in a complex world.

Constantly genuflecting at the altar of 9/11 is a reflection of America's (and that of Americans) inability to move on - but more so, its own lack of discernment in world affairs. Constantly pointing the finger at this bumbling administration for the way it executes policy is futile polemics.

Next time, think first before voting plutocrats into power.

Like infidelity in a marriage or any relationship, trust once betrayed can never be restored. There will always be a residual of doubt and mistrust after the bond of trust has been severed. Bush has broken the bond of trust with the American people by his deceptions and lies in many areas, but particularly with his deciet in the lead- up to the invasion of Iraq. Bush is not worthy of trust and anybody who is naive enough at this point to extend trust to him deserves the consequences of their foolishness. When a dog has shown that it bites humans, you stay away from it because you know that it is in it's nature to bite... it's called wisdom.

Even Bush, lying despicable slimbucket that he is, knows that lesson...."fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice..uh, can't get fooled again".

And as a corollary regarding the Republican poison pill to their DHS bill, the federal judiciary supported the Democrats' position against dismantling civil service and union protections for federal employees. But the Repubs already got the political capital out of their original position. Somebody else always has to clean up the mess they leave behind. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I'm sure there's lots of grumbling going on right now, but I still see no evidence of backbone anywhere (except Sen. Feingold, bless him).

I've long thought that the only hope for our country is for the congress to get tired of being powerless toadies and remember that they have actual power to, you know, do stuff.

With the preznit's approval rating at 34% and lots of polls showing a democratic takeover of the House in November, congressional republicans (and some democrats) should be taking another look at their records.

But will they?
