Karma’s a Bitch

In his first public comments since resigning earlier today as a blogger for washingtonpost.com, Ben Domenech says his editors there were “fools” for not expecting an onslaught of attacks from the left.

“While I appreciated the opportunity to go and join the Washington Post,” Domenech said, “if they didn’t expect the leftists were going to come after me with their sharpened knives, then they were fools.” — Robert Bluey, Human Events

If you want to see a blog wallowing in Martyrdom, just head on over to RedState.org. For example, here, here, here, and here. Poor babies.

For a bit of info on RedState’s role in the Eason Jordan smackdown, click here. Nasty babies.

Domenech names Jayson Blair the 2003 Fraud of the Year.

JimmyJeff: “Ben Domenech, welcome to my world!” How sweet.

  1. The pot can call the kettle black as long as it wants, I guess. One pretty apology and all is forgiven. Sheesh. Can’t the Washington Post find a conservative one with some standards.
Oh yes, once again it seems that liberals are at fault – this time that the poor guy is dishonest.

  2. Can’t the Washington Post find a conservative one with some standards

There actually are rightie bloggers who are better writers, not to mention better educated and more mature, and who probably don’t have anything more alarming in their histories than parking tickets. Exactly how a 24-year-old who didn’t finish college has managed to compile the resume Domenech has compiled is disgusting by itself; no doubt many far more worthy people were passed over on his behalf on a great many occasions.

  3. I know that “spoiled, rich, white, beardless male” can apply to a Kennedy as well as a Bush, but when it comes to character I’d have this to say: “Robert F. Kennedy versus George W. Bush? No. Friggin. Contest.” It’s what they learn, eventually, that matters.

The Washington Post must be suicidal to hire character-free spoiled rich white beardless males simply to hoist the rightie banner at a time when rightie values are rotten to the core. WTF were they thinking?!

  4. On the subject of the Washington Post’s biases, take a look at this letter published in the Gazette, a weekly published in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, yesterday. It’s about the Purple Line, a planned new light rail Metro line that Republican Gov. Ehrlich has stalled. The Gazette is owned by the Post, but is separately edited:
    ****
No matter how often Blair Lee says so, the daily press is not biased against Gov. Robert Ehrlich (‘‘Paybacks are hell,” March 3 column). Look at what the Washington Post — a bastion of anti-Ehrlichism as seen by Mr. Lee — doesn’t tell us about the governor.

A few weeks after playing golf with Post columnist Tony Kornheiser at Columbia Country Club in 2003, the governor told The Gazette that the Purple Line ‘‘will not go through the country club.” In its copious coverage of Montgomery County transportation issues, the Post has never found these words fit to print.

A transportation policy determined by the governor’s golfing cronies is newsworthy — and even more so when one of the cronies works for the paper that won’t print the news.

The writer is president of the Action Committee for Transit, which promotes the use of mass transit in Montgomery County.

  5. His latest apology included an apology for ‘obfuscations’ in his previous comments on the issue.

Obfuscation in this context is just an obfuscating way of saying ‘lie’. Apparently Ben hasn’t read ‘Politics and the English Language’.

Also, someone posting as DougD at Red State posted something like “I’m proud of you son. Dad.” Imagine that, being proud of your plagiarizing and obfuscating son, the one whom you home schooled, and whose values can’t be blamed on the public school system.

I like the outraged complaints that liberals were attacking Ben’s family. Too bad that sympathy also isn’t directed at homosexuals and their families, or blacks and their families. Nope, when it comes to blacks and gays what we get is the Southern Strategy and anti-gay marriage and man on dog sex.
