The Weenerization of America

Josh Marshall says something that cannot be repeated enough:

There is no shortage of things to shudder at and lament in this current spiral of death in the Levant. But what stands out to me right now is the seeming irrelevance and marginality of the United States. … Thinking back through the 1960s, 70s, 80s, and 90s — with key crises in each decade — I don’t think there’s any example where an American administrtion has so thoroughly marginalized itself or shown such impotence and irrelevance.

The Bush Administration’s obsession with strength has weakened us.

  1. why is bush standing around as a bystander? the elections are coming, the elections are coming!!!!! do you want to look even more incompetent??? more, just standing by until 10/15 then going after iran, you can look like we are inanother war in HIS fight against boogeyman TERROR. this country is so marginalized, we can’t stop israel. israel has already told condiass to back off(bet it was more like f-off)

  2. another thing, i think the dems should start yelling DRAFT. the people know any larger conflict will make the DRAFT neccessary

  3. From what I understand, Charlie Rangel has floated something in the line of mandatory service for all Americans between 18 and 48 which was attached to a bill going to debate last month.(it’s good to be 51) The “service” could be military or something like the Peace Corps, but I think the intention was to get people to wake up to whom is doing the soldiering while the children of the elite attend to “other” interests.
I also see that the draft boards have been activated. This could have a big backlash, unless the “bait” is presented in just the right way and at the right time. An incident harming Americans in Lebanon could be the trip wire for an attack on Iran or Syria.
Wise leaders would consult a map of the region and consider what other countries might be drawn into the conflict and how that would effect the big picture….
But wise leaders are few and far between these days…………
This is a very interesting time.

  4. If Bush cared about maintaining military strength while prosecuting his wars, we would have had a draft already. He’s too much of a weenie to make hard choices, so we have no draft and grind up our Army into sand.

  5. I am the author of “The First Scientific Proof of God’ and am currently teaching/expanding the ideas on this book at http://georgeshollenberger.blogspot.com/. This book contains the ‘mental bombs’ that will stop Bush, bin Laden, and those other political personalities who cannot conceive the causal factors that led to today’s awful world situation. Comments are requested on my blog.

  6. OK, I think we need to all sit back, pull out our Occam’s Razors……… Y’all haven’t lost yours have you…. ?

It won’t take long, just a few minutes of input and here’s the simplest answer to why the BushCamp is behaving the way they are…… IT’S BECAUSE THEY WANT ALL THIS TO HAPPEN!!! THEY APPROVE IT AND ARE NOT AT ALL SURPRISED BY IT!!!!

“Why is bush standing around as a bystander?”
He’s not. His inaction is intended, he is not a bystander at all.

Let’s not get too carried away with their utter stupidity…….

  7. A draft now won’t help…We’ve already lost in Iraq! Besides that, a draft would be an admission of defeat.. This war was the war that wasn’t going cost us a thing..Iraqi oil revenues were going to pick up the tab on costs and the worst casualties might be slight bruising from rose petals.
I think Bush watched how his daddy grabbed Manuel Noriega and thought he could do the same thing with Saddam Hussein. Bush wasn’t looking out for America when he lied his way into Iraq. He was looking out for himself while on a testosterone high and didn’t get the feedback he needed for a balanced mental health. Nobody with access his bubble was willing to tell the Emperor that he had no clothes.
Not that anything I have to say should mean anything to anybody other than myself, but my thought is that Bush’s past drinking problem has its root in insecurity. And that insecurity is still manifest in Bush’s personality as evidenced by the decisions he currently makes. His marketing as the Commander-in Chief or the War President to convey strength and security don’t sufficiently mask his radiant inadequacies. He’s a fucking loser..big time. The perfect scripture that applies to Bush is…Greater is he who rules his own spirit than he who takes a city.

  8. IT’S BECAUSE THEY WANT ALL THIS TO HAPPEN!!!

Yes, I presented that possibility a few posts ago. Next time, lurk awhile before you comment and make an ass of yourself.

  9. i do not think bush is insecure at all. he is very secure in the power he can whip around. the way he whips that power is due to his inferiority complex. he feels inferior to his father, inferior to his brothers and mama reinforced that belief in george by praising him, not holding him accountable. he was a failure in school and business and because his family connections always bailed him out, his inferior feelings of himself were reinforced. his drinking/drugs were a way of avoiding of facing these inferior feelings. the religion gives him a sense of worthiness but it is still there. not a psychologist but a long time student of psychology. hitler was very secure in the beginning of his reign. but always feel inferior. the inferiority complex directed his actions.
