Dick the Dick says veeps don’t respond to congressional subpoenas.
I don’t know how many times a sitting president or vice president have been subpoenaed. But seems to me that if We, the People, want accountability from the Executive branch, then the president and vice president have a duty to answer to the people, as represented in Congress.
We could be in for a fun couple of years.

I agree with you; but, I think We, the People. need to scream loud and long about this. If he isn’t going to show us the records, then, we should take his pay check and start putting liens on his property to get the full amount of money We, the People, have paid him.
All you can do with a cretin and a bully like Cheney is call their bluff. Waxman should subpoena him as soon as he can and ask about who contributed to our energy policy and his current ties to Halliburton. Stop backing down to the bullies and call their bluff.

Wasn’t Clinton impeached based on testimony he made under oath to a congressional committee? Am I mistaken or wasn’t the testimony he gave on a purely personal matter required by Republicans on a witch hunt? But the veep is exempt from answering questions about a war that has killed nearly 3000 GIs and half a million Iraqis? Wow! I wanna be veep; you have the power if God and no accountability!

Dick thinks executive order ( no 1392 i believe)that he is coequal with Bush makes him immune to scrutiny. It they want to scream executive co-equality every time then we get to impeach both at once. If he is the executive it should follow. Actually that presidential order seems out of line with the constitution and perhaps it should be reviewed. Wasn’t Agnew subpoened? indicted? If clinton has to testify about his sex lfe then Cheney needs to testify . Perhaps Maher Arar could bring a civil suit against him( if Paula Jones could I don’t see why Arar can’t) Someone gave the order to send him to Syria to be tortured after the Canadian Government called to tell the FBI that he was not the bad guy they thought he was.
Dick Cheney will have Bush declare the election a fraud due to unreliable voting machines, and all members will hold their current positions until the court case(s) are resolved. The entire process might require a couple of years.

I believe Clinton lied under oath while being questioned by the special prosecutor [who secretly already had the blue dress information].
Cheney appear to be a pretty confident obstructionist and liar,secure in his knowledge of the system. I suspect he knows that he can outrun or out maneuver any investigation, and he won’t hesitate to tell Congress to “go fuck yourself” in gentler terms.
Then throw the motherf*#ker in jail for contempt.

Oh, most of the rest of us have been through a series of humbling experiences the last few years. Why do Bush, Cheney and gang get to be “America”?
I’m chiming in with Doug and Donna: didn’t we already have this discussion while Clinton was under investigation? If a sitting president can be prosecuted, why can’t the veep? Heh, maybe Cheney is exceptional.
