The longer they stall...the better their position. The Dem's need to act in faith that 70-75% of the American people want us out of Iraq. It's a war conceived in lies and deceptions, an unnecessary excursion in military adventurism that no amount of effort can undo, or make right. America has to face the consequences of Bush's mistake sooner or later..it's inevitable, so we might just as well face it now by standing firm with the voice of the majority of the American people, and demand an end to the folly.

After years of being battered by the Rethuglicans and their noise machine, it's not surprising that the Dems would have to learn some new patterns of thought. Still, I wish they'd speed it up.

They sent Bush the funding. He vetoed it. They went into negotiations with the White House, who told them to suck eggs. And they are still worried about being the ones blamed for keeping the money from the troops?

Yeah, I get that even on NPR they talk about getting the President a bill he can sign instead of talking about a bill he will sign, but come on! Bush is the one toying with the fate of our troops. Not Congress.

It's at least time for the Dems to start dictating their own frame to the media, instead of cowering from the Republicans' one. (You'd think a party that nominated John Kerry because of his unassailable record as a war hero would have figured out by now that Republicans will attack no matter what, so you might as well do the right thing, and be prepared to defend it well.)
