[...] I’ve spent the past five years trying to do my little bit to shed light on the Bush Administration. We’ve come a long way. Five years ago, the Bushies were untouchable. The nation was being marched to war, and few dissenting voices were allowed access to mass media. In the 2002 midterms, Republicans would gain eight seats in the House and two seats in the Senate, the latter of which erased the Dems’ slender majority. [...]

Congratulations on your 5 year blogging anniversary, Maha. You've done a fine job of upholding the standard and potential of what a blog can be...a tool to educate rather than a platform to blow one's own horn. ( Flopping Ace's, Confederate Yankee, Captain Ed). I appreciate your writings and writing style..not bad for a hillbilly.

Maha,

Congrats on the 5 year milestone. Given what passes for political blogs these days, I would say that 5 years of consistent good work is quite an achievement. And you only "twit-filtered" me once!

Now what the hell happened to the “law and order” republican party? Was is not just a month ago, Faux News (the official P.R. agency of the right) was carrying on 24hrs a day how unfair it was that the Hollywood elite (Paris Hilton, etc.) get a softer form of justice than the rest of us? But apparently it is somehow acceptable that “Scooter” be let go with nothing more than a slap on the wrist. The man was convicted by a jury of perjury and obstruction of justice (the case connected to the very office that issues his commutation)? The blind hypocrisy of the right will never cease to amaze me, they are un-fucking-believable. Leave it to the C-student in chief to half-ass a political pardon. He doesn't even have the stones to issue a full pardon, can Bu$hco get anything right?

Ian -- I've given up on being rich and famous. I'm waiting for Sean to be rich and famous so that he will support me. He promised his old Ma a villa in Italy and I'm holding him to it. He's managing a video store at the moment which means he's got a little ways to go, but I have faith.
