The Life He Lived

There’s a tribute to the late Steve Gilliard in the New York Times today, written by Matt Bai. It’s a moving piece, although Steve’s friend Jesse Wendel points out that it is not without error.

I miss Steve.

  2. I miss Steve alot. When things happen, like the Turks bombing Iraq or Bhotto I think of what Steve might say. He taught me alot about military history, and I loved his ‘he’s just not into her’ stories. Not to mention his love of good eats. He could write about food and make me go to kitchen. Miss you Steve…
