Interesting links…although it’s nothing we didn’t know already. I’m just surprised that the Democratic candidates aren’t screaming a little louder about the failure in Iraq..after all they are going to be ones who will have to bear the blame for Bush’s failure. Don’t they know a reckoning for the Iraqi debacle awaits them?

OT..I know the constitution says that no test of religion shall be required for public office, but the conservatives through their lies and smears have imposed a religious test on Obama. He was forced to renounce any affiliations to Islam and publicly embrace Christ to defend against the false accusations made against him He even declared himself a “committed Christian”. It might not be an officially sanctioned test as one might understand..But it was a test none the less. Huckabee’s political pandering to leverage Jesus played a big part in the necessity for Obama to voluntarily take his religious test. No Jesus,No Presidency —Know Jesus, Know Presidency

If you render your taxes unto God, then you will render your worship unto Caesar.

Sorry you are not feeling good Barbara.

Reading various accounts reminds me of a true story about a lady in Florida. But let me narrow down what about he surge reminds me of this LOL (little old lady). Probably the most successful program of the surge is our new policy of paying and arming independent militia who are not under the control of the Iraq government. Frequently Suni, these under-equipped militias will toss out terrorists with pleasure since these ‘terrorists’ are competing with the local tribal leaders for control. So we are acting like these militias are our pet mercinaries since they are taking our money and arms.

Which brings me back to the LOL. She was not from Florida or she would have had the sense NOT to try to make a pet out of a 9 foot ‘gator who occupied the lake her house was on. She would not have thought there was an understanding just because she could hand feed (from a safe distance) to the gator raw chicken quarters. And if she was not as stupid as our military, she would not have thought she could have a chat with the pet ‘gator on the day she ran out of chicken. The gator ate her.

That’s what’s gonna happen when we stop paying these militias. That’s what will happen when we tell them that they have to take orders from the Shei government or disband. Yeah right, they will put all their guns in a pile for us if we tell them to.

I am happy the body count is down. OK, this has worked temporarily. So did feeding time at the pond. For a while. But we are arming the Sunis, who have a blood fued with the Shei. The Shei are now looking at a better equipped Suni militia and guess who is in the middle.

    Hooray for the Surge!
