Lies, Damn Lies, and Donald Douglas

Not finding enough people to hate today, I suppose, flaming idiot Donald Douglas lies to his readers about what I wrote about the abortion doctor and clinic under indictment in Philadelphia.

And then the miserable liar Douglas ends his post this way —

I’m saddened by the industrial-scale death that you promote with your radical pro-choice ideology. And I’ll pray for those babies — and for you as well.

Pray for yourself, Douglas. Maybe God will make you an honest man. Or, at least, bequeath unto you standard reading comprehension skills.

Of course I didn’t “cheer” the doctor under indictment. The point of the post was that what he did was illegal under current abortion law, and now he is being prosecuted, which is as it should be. Further criminalization of abortion will not stop more clinics like this, but rather make it likely there will be more of them. I’m not saying this is what I want; I’m saying this is a terrible thing that will happen if abortion is further criminalized in the U.S.

And of course, no reader of Douglas’s slanderous post will bother to actually read what I really wrote, because righties don’t read. They just hate.

  1. Headline needs punctuation, and a final clause to make it clear you are cheering the indictment, not the actions allegedly performed.

“The System worked Mahablog cheers. House of Horrors doctor … with scissors charged with 7 counts of murder for these horrible crimes.”

I do think the headline is intentionally misleading.

Oh, puh-leeze — did you read the rest of the slander Douglas wrote? He doesn’t deserve any benefit of any doubt.

  2. It is truly stunning that he actually linked to you, yet he very clearly has no idea what you were actually saying in your post. While reading what you wrote very clearly shows that you were not in any way approving of what (allegedly) went on, he somehow draws the exact opposite conclusion.

How do we even begin to debate people like this? We might as well be teaching advanced calculus to 3 year olds.

  3. Dr Douglas lies from the first capital letter to the final period. All one can do is patiently correct his intentionally slanderous verbiage with more of your own.

I’ve always believed that the intelligent ones come to see for themselves, and when they do, they learn the truth. The sycophants and slugs who just take his word for everything are far too stupid worry about… which is good, because there is nothing anyone can do to educate them, anyway. For them, it’s all about faith, not fact. Dr Douglas is a conservative, and conservatives never lie (or cheat, or steal, or do anything else that most other folks–and all liberals, of course–tend to do. Folks like Donald (& John Hawkins, and Jim Hoff, & …) would be nothing without their true believers, lapping up whatever lies they tell and repeating them to all their friends…

It’s kinda pathetic, actually. Scary, but pathetic.

  4. Donald Douglas: “Keeping an eye on the communist-left so you don’t have to.”

Someone who confuses liberals with communists already lives inside a bubble of belief that selectively filters out facts that don’t match the fantasy.

Your post made it perfectly clear that the “doctor” was guilty of horrific, illegal back-alley butchery. That Douglas, or anyone else for that matter, could possibly interpret this as approval of such behavior boggles the mind.

Makes me want to pat him on the head and say, “Bless your little heart, Duggy; I know you’re trying, but reading comprehension is clearly just too hard for you.”

  5. And of course, no reader of Douglas’s slanderous post will bother to actually read what I really wrote, because righties don’t read.

Does Donalde have any non-ironic readers?

  6. Please everyone, remember that who (what?) we’re talking about here is that retarded nebbishy gerbil AmericaneoCLOWN.
Here, for your enjoyment, is what is probably the single stupidest post in history, and one of the greatest takedowns of all time – “Sasquatch Israel!” And then, Clownie, after being informed that the sign he saw was “Sasquatch Is Real!” still blames Liberals – as if it’s our fault he’s toooooooo stupid to read. I give you that great dufus, Donald Douglas, AmericaneoCLOWN in all of his ignorant, hateful “glory.” Enjoy:

At least he didn’t say it was a “Contortion Doctor,” so maybe “Sasquatch Israel” did teach him one lesson. Maybe it was to have one of the few semi-literate college students who take his imbecilic courses, because they have to in order to graduate, read it to him so he could understand. And still, the two of them missed what maha was saying. This is a sad commentary on the education system at our community colleges. Or at least the one dumb enough to hire that ‘moran’ DR. (as he insists on being called) Donald Douglas. I wonder if that’s a nickname he earned playing with freshman, giving them “shot’s,” or did he actually have to present a dissertation. Maybe they allowed him to color one.

And I know he can’t comment here, but I’m sure he’ll be checking out the comments out.
    Hey Clownie, how’s it hangin’?
I mean besides withered, diseased and tiny?

PS AmericaneoCLOWN: If the community college where you teach has a reading comprehension course, you might want to take it. Have that student who is literate read the syllabus. You probably thought you’d get ‘pressed’ to read because it was a ‘reading compression course.’ Try it. It might help prevent future embarassment on the internet. But maybe that’s all you have. As well as the embarassments between your legs and ears.

    AmericaneoCLOWN: What a dope… What a maroon…

  7. It is good to be liked and have friends, but there are some people whose animosity is to be treasured as an indicator that you are on the right track.

  8. “I’ve always believed that the intelligent ones come to see for themselves, and when they do, they learn the truth. The sycophants and slugs who just take his word for everything are far too stupid worry about…”

Sorry repsac3, but these people give me plenty to be worried about! The hard core makes up a good 30% of the US population and they manage to attract enough waffling dummies to win lots of elections.

    I am worried.

  9. Maha,Years ago you called Donny out in a post by way of a link to highlight his stupidity and your readers gave him a good going over with their comments. So all this time Donny has been stewing in vengeance waiting to deliver a payback. I don’t think his reading comprehension is where the problem lies. He intentionally twisted the essence of what you were saying to deliver a jab at you and liberals in general. He’s a fledgling conservative hack who isn’t worth the time to respond to.

  10. I’ll bet if you ask AmericaneoCLOWN’s parents, after realizing what they’d created, they’d both say they’d wished Roe had been passed a few years earlier.
Or, that they knew of some other position besides the ‘missionary’ one.
Like, say, what year was Woodstock? 19_ _, oh yeah!
That might have increased the IQ of this country only incrementally, but remember, that boy possesses some incredibly powerful stupid, so it most probably would have been noticable.
Let us hope his DNA doesn’t pollute the human genomes of the future. Keep it zipped, AmericaneoCLOWN. Or, if you must, put a bag over it’s ugly little head. I think a nickel bag will be more than enough – with room to spare.

  11. I sometimes drive myself crazy trying to figure out how people like Donald Douglas have become so prominent in our society. There seems to be quite a market for willful distortion of the facts (AKA lying) for the purpose of of squelching opposing points of view and for villifying people who hold opposing views. In the light of recent events, it might seem a kind of “terrorism lite” which makes people reluctant to voice their opinions in fear of drawing the attention of some nutcase. It is the objective of the culture war to make debate impossible. There are assaults on language and resultant “ruined words” which no longer have any clear, generally accepted meaning. (Look how “fascism”. “socialism” and a slew of other words are used strike fear into people who have no concept of what they once meant.) There is the propaganda machine which creates fear, confusion and the unrelenting conviction that the “other” is among us. We all could go on and on.

In a state of fear and confusion people will grasp at any narrative that claims to present an order in the chaos. The more prevalent the narrative, the more likely they are to accept it. It is also valuable to “get on first”. The noise machine is very good at taking advantage of these circumstances.

But, there is somethng puzzling about examples like the one in Maha’s article. If the false assertion about Maha’s article on the abortion clinic were simply a lie, it would be, under normal circumstances, a poorly chosen one because it is so transparently false that only the most most ignorant true believer could accept it. (Unfortunately, there is no shortage of this sort of person.) If it were honestly held opinion, that “Dr.” Douglas derived from a careful reading of Maha’s article, his reading skills would be so abysmal that instead of being a doctor, he would be far more likely to be collecting aluminum cans for a living and a poor risk for being run over by a bus in the practice of this occupation.

I think the “Sasquatch Israel” incident is telling. Clearly the man is so obsessive about in his hatred or so overwhelmed by the propaganda that he and his comrades produce that he can no longer perceive reality, except through the prism of his own distortion. The sign he SAW said “Sasquatch is Real” the sign he PERCEIVED said “Sasquatch Israel”. It is entirely possible that he is not lying in a strict sense of the term or that he is stupid in the generally accepted definition. He, like so many others, is in need of professional care.

Yes, and that goes for most of the rabid Right.

  12. The low caliber of today’s right can steal one’s breath away. I’m torn between believing it is genetics or piss poor raising.

The arrogant phrase, “I’ll pray for you.” always annoys me. Not because I actually believe the person saying it is being respectable nor even “devout” in their faith but because they are purposely being arrogant, pompous, snide, false and petty. I imagine “God” saying, “well Dr. Douglas is being a self-righteous arrogant arsehole. Again.” lol
