  1. If Tim Tebow endorses Barak Obama, would the right embrace Obama or reject Tebow?
Is there a Bible verse to support the endorsement or rejection?
    Erinyes 3:16 ?

  2. erinyes,
I believe I can top that verse:
    Brady 45-10.

And check this story out, Mitt gave some unemployed supporter of his some money out of his his own pocket.
“The woman, Ruth Williams, met Romney earlier in the week and told him she was having trouble making ends meet. On Saturday, Romney recognized Williams while he was shaking hands with supporters after a rally, an aide said.
Romney spoke to the woman and handed her several bills.”
An aide said it was probably around $50-60.
    Later, in the same article:
“God didn’t tell me to go to nobody else,” she said when asked whether she had approached other presidential candidates. “He told me to pray for Romney.” This CNN piece is pretty complimentary:

I feel sorry for that poor woman. She’s been out of work since October, and has a sick son.
But how far is $50-60 going to go?
Ma’am, God should have told you to give your support to a candidate who’s trying to give you a job, not a handout.
This kind of support is typical of the “What’s the matter with Kansas” Conservative voters.

I would have looked at him and said, “Are you f*cking kidding me?!?! I need a job, not a handout, you rich bastard! I don’t need crumbs from your table, I need a meal, asshole.” And told him what he could do with his money.

This isn’t “Trickle Down,” this is more like “Noblesse Oblige.”

And I’m sure the rest of the MSM will paint this as ‘Mitt, the understanding,” or ‘Mitt, the empathetic.”
And if they do, that’s pathetic.

  3. Mark Twain, writing about a rich man who was being honored for his generous charitable gift of $5,000, said something along the lines of: Considering how rich that man is, there is nothing “generous” about his donation; it’s about the equivalent of me–given my financial circumstances–donating a nickle.

I’m sure the $50 or $60 helped the woman out a bit but, as gulag pointed out, what she and so many others are desperately asking for is a leg up, not a handout–and Republicans have been working hard to prevent this from happening.

  4. Sounds like Romney employed the parable of the widow’s mite. He gave of his substance in secret so that the Lord will honor and bless his goodness. What a man of God!..Surely goodness and mercy shall follow him all the days of his life.

Off topic but, Did you hear about Santorum scoring a big hit from the Evangelical circuit..He hit the mother lode with bundled endorsements from James Dobson, John Hagee, Tony Perkins…and most importantly —Donald Wildmon. I think votes should take heed..Touch not mine anointed saith the Lord.

  5. Regarding the “Romney Gives Cash to Struggling Supporter” story:

Since Romney spent over a hundred dollars per vote in Iowa, wouldn’t buying a vote for sixty dollars be relatively efficient?

  6. OMG – MUST SEE TV!!!!!!!!!!!

Colbert Superpac’s first ad in SC. With the great John Lithgow doing the voice-over.

    http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/317935

In a nutshell – if corporations are people, then Mitt Romney is a serial killer – Mitt ‘The Ripper.”

    LOLOLOLOLOLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

Somewhere, Judge Alito is shaking his head, going, “No, this is NOT what we meant!”

And how screwed is this country that it takes a comedian on a faux news show to prove how bad CU was.

Colbert is OPENLY MOCKING THE COURT’S DECISION!
    MOCKING!!!!!!

You know, it’s not like it’s the job of the NY Times, the WaPo, or any TV news programs or channels to inform the people.

No, we need a comedian to show us the way.

    MORE, MR. COLBERT! MUCH MORE!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Colbert must not have heard of SCOTUS United; mocking the Supreme Court now is punishable by indeterminate detention at an undisclosed location.

  8. C U N D GULAG – Thanks for the Colbert link. It’s great comedy, and it might be significant politics.

I remember my father ranting about JFK when he ran against Nixon. But Dad watched and laughed his ass off just a few years later when the Smothers Brothers had a show and Nixon was the target. Comedy is a potent vehicle for truth, and it can go places liberals aren’t welcome. I will vote – so will the teabaggers. Come November, the election will be decided by well-intentioned moderate fools who won’t make an effort to uncover the truth.

But a lot of these idiots will laugh at Colbert, and for some, the message will get through. Democracy is a lousy way to run a country, but it will have to do until we think up a better method. Until then, if comedy is the best way to get the truth out – support the Colbert Super PAC.

  9. BTW – CNN has TWO articles on Colbert on the politics page. Democrats have a limited platform in the primary season while President Obama is unopposed. The debates are getting a lot of viewers – voters are more engaged than I can remember. Is the liberal blogosphere missing a chance to promote a progressive message with moderate independent voters whose focus is the GOP contest through the Colbert candidacy?
