The LAX Shooting

We are getting way too blasé about mass shootings. Yesterday’s shooting at the Los Angeles airport is already dropping out of the headlines. (Oh, yeah, another loser white guy shoots people. Yawn.)

I noticed that the most recent blog posts were mostly from righties. And mostly they were crowing that California’s gun control laws sure worked real well, huh?

But if you want to see what happens when the dregs of humanity get internet access, see the comments to this Reason post. (HT Charles Pierce)

  1. It’s amazing how quickly the event has become no big deal. I can’t believe nobody will standup and push to ban assault weapons.

  2. erinyes… Yeah, I know. I guess that after the Sandy Hook families and Obama got smacked down by the NRA nobody is going to raise their heads in opposition to the gun lobby. It’s a shame.

Because in red states you can carry your gun through airport security into the terminals??? The stupid. It Burns.

  4. “The duffel bag also contained a handwritten letter signed by Ciancia stating he’d “made the conscious decision to try to kill” multiple TSA employees and that he wanted to “instill fear in their traitorous minds” said FBI Agent in Charge David L. Bowdich.”

And instead, he instilled faux patriotism in traitorous, for lack of a better word, “minds.” And by that, I mean whatever little brain matter there is between their ears, beyond those cells which control involuntary reflexes.

“Black, white, yellow, brown, I don’t discriminate,” the note read…”
Oh goody, an equal-opportunity murdering maniac…

And I’m not eager to see how our Reich-Wingers tie that to Liberalism, but I’m sure they will.
Maybe they already did in those comments.
I read a few, and now I need a shower.
    No, I need a bath.
No, I need a day-long immersion in Holy Water – and I’m not even a believer!

I saw “reason” and figure why bother, oxymoron anyone! The solution here is obvious once again, had every passenger in the terminal, man. women, child (over the age of two, we must have standards) had an assault rifle the shooter would have been stopped earlier, their may have been mass casualties from stray bullets but hey, that’s freedom!
