  1. Mike the Mad Biologist posted a Young Republicans poster from 1956 that shows how different the modern (so-called modern) Republican Party is from their past when it comes to Labor Day and unions.

And remember, that’s from the era of their “good old days” they always say we should be emulating (let’s emulate the personal and corporate tax rates from then too, Republicans).

  2. Well, at least our conservatives are consistent:
They want to eliminate labor right for both men and women!
No joining work labor unions for men or women.
And no separating the union of the woman and her fetus until she’s in labor,

  3. JDM,

What a great poster! The only thing that still applies to the modern GOP is the bragging about how we “consume more than any other nation”, like that’s a good thing?

“And now the last union mine in Kentucky has been shut down”

I live here in Steel Country, the unions are hanging on for dear life, our Governor Mike “hate fags” Pence is on the ropes as well! He like most GOP Governors has been going after public sector unions since he got in office with little push back, I mean why do teachers need to make a decent living? He even went after the steelworkers passing a law making the payment of union dues “optional”? Recently he went after the trade unions by eliminating “prevailing wage” guarantee’s, it seems that was a bridge too far, now every 4th or 5th house around here has a “Fire Pence” sign in the front yard!
