Let’s Place Blame Where It’s Due

While social and news media are, justifiably, focused on the terrorist attacks in Paris, let us not forget the incompetence that allowed 9/11 to happen. And then let us not forget how the Bush Administration’s spectacularly wrong-headed response helped create what happened in Paris yesterday.

That said, the new information on 9/11 isn’t entirely new. New details of how badly the Bushies botched national security in 2001 keep trickling out, but it’s been trickling out for a while. See this post I wrote in light of then-new information in 2012.

  1. Conservative POV:
The supposed information leading up to 9/11 that’s coming out now comes from the Libtard MSM and has no bearing on reality.
    BUSH KEPT US SAFE!!!

Besides, 9/11 is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Especially not when compared to Benghazi! Benghazi!! BENGHAZI!!!!!

Time to elect another GOP Preznit, so he can finish the job that W started and Obambi cowered from, and cut and ran.
    NUKE THE ENTIRE MIDDLE EAST!
And let our Christian God sort the dead out -and damn the non-Christians to Hell!

    WARNING:
    *SNARK* ALERT!
That’s for any newcomers to this site.

  2. I saw a comment today in which someone said that he was glad Bush went after Bin Laden. Revisionist memory or revisionist commentary? What’s that old saying about truth being the first casualty of war or some such? When T-rump said we “should have kept the oil” in Iraq, I so wanted someone to ask him how many dead soldiers would have been acceptable to protect a Halliburton operation and pipeline through hostile territory. Somehow that did not happen.

  3. ‘Gulag, you may find it interesting that today’s Orlando Sentinel main political story is the GOP freak out fit over the two headliners, T-Rump and Carson. They realize they truly have a box of freaks in their line up. I won’t be surprised if a draft Romney campaign starts very soon. It was nice to do the time travel exercise via Maha’s links to past articles. One truly can’t unring a bell, especially on the web.

  4. Update: the Syrian passport found near one of the suicide bombers was a forgery. So, we are being played. Perhaps this false flag is Daesh’s way to fool Europe into blaming Daesh’s refugee victims; but that is speculation.

  5. “Perhaps this false flag”

Really? I find it hilarious that the baggers have waited for 11 years for a mass casualty incident that didn’t involve an American conservative, to date they have not gotten what they wanted, so 150+ dead Frenchmen will have do? Gosh maybe tomorrow it will happen.

  6. It called for a covert CIA and military campaign to end the Al Qaeda threat—“getting into the Afghan sanctuary, launching a paramilitary operation, creating a bridge with Uzbekistan.” “And the word back,” says Tenet, “‘was ‘we’re not quite ready to consider this. We don’t want the clock to start ticking.’” (Translation: they did not want a paper trail to show that they’d been warned.)

They knew damn well 9/11 was going to happen, and they didn’t want the citizenry to know that they knew.

  7. Well, lookie. Lindsey Graham is all aflutter. Sixteen years late, unfortunately.

I do not WANT to know what any of the GOP nutball candidates have to say. What a clueless, delayed-development bunch.
