Bombs Away

I’m not watching the Republican debate, but I’m betting it’s a bomb fest.

I’m learning that the New York Public schools received a bomb threat very similar to the one that closed Los Angeles schools today.  But the NY schools did not close, mostly because nobody saw the email until it was too late to get the word out. By 9 o’clock or so, the NYPD had determined the threat was a hoax. I don’t know if that’s reassuring.

Ran into wi-fi issues today, which slowed me down. I will write something tomorrow, I promise!

  1. I’m worried.

    If not downright frightened.

I forgot, and told my Mom about the GOP debates tonight.
She asked me if I wanted to watch them with her, but I declined.
    Life, is scary enough

Now, I worry about her having nightmares.
And then me, having nightmare’s about her having them.

Never mind the GOP candidates scaring the children!

Mind how they scare the seniors!

    OY!
Thankfully, my Mom will listen to reason.
    How many won’t?

  2. Cund….my mom…she won’t listen to reason….If they thump a Bible, and tell us they pray….my mom will vote for them…I still love her, but it drives me crazy….I suppose that being 93 years old gives her a little leeway…

I didn’t watch either, whats the point we all know that Obama and Hillary have ruined this country and everyone of the GOP clowns will make America hate again!

  4. Maha — read SteveM’s post on the NYC schools and the decision not to close. Apparently in the email it was claimed 139 people would hit ALL the schools in NYC. NYC has some 1,800 schools. What with travel time to a school and the time at a school, I know that even officials with motorcades can’t visit even 10% of the schools in one day. (I had worked in a NYC educational non-profit for many years and watched as visits were planned.)

I don’t know all the considerations L.A. officials used but in NYC, I agree with SteveM that we made the right decision.

  5. All I know is what NPR reported this morning.

Am I going crazy? Both Rand Paul and The Donald made comments that I agree with! When Chris Christie described how he would shoot down Russian fighter jets over Syria, Rand Paul observed, “Well, if you want to start World War III, you’ve found your candidate!” Then Trumpface complained that he wished we had back the $4 trillion we’ve spend in recent years “deposing dictators around the world.” (He did not bemoan the hundreds of thousands of lives lost in that insanity, however, and I’m not sure he mentioned Saddam Hussein by name.)

Maybe someone from Huffington Post temporarily seized control of Rand Paul and The Donald’s earpieces? Otherwise, I heard the usual gibberish.
