  1. Whatever is good for Putin is good for America.  How much does Trump and his clan owe those Kleptocrats, and how big of a lever do they have?  Putin and company will freeze babies to get their way.  It is best to pay your bills to ilk like that.  We are in deep trouble.

  2. t-RUMPLE-thin-sKKKin promised to make “America Great Again” when he was running.
What he didn’t tell anyone – or even know himself – was that he’d actually turn out to “Make America a Great Laughingstock (for the first time!).”

What’s most dangerous, is that like their bigoted/stupid/ignorant orange lemming leader, his boastful, marching masses of moronic lemming followers, will get pissed-off at nations mocking and ridiculing (this once great nation – never near perfect, but still pretty great) America.
‘How dare they mock this, our great and exceptional, nation?!?! And our great and exceptional President!!!’
And so, these exceptionally ignorant and violent thugs will begin to attack foreign tourists – btw: tourism is already way, way down since the last Election Day (Coincidence? I think not!).

So, add an ever worsening economy on top of falling way, way behind in renewable enery technology – and the economic growth from that!

And then, they will want a war with someone, somewhere.
And then, who knows how that ends?
Our military is still pretty good, and the people in it are willing to fight.
The problem will most likely be, that t-RUMPLE-thin-sKKKin will think he can be a great military leader, and demand to tell the real military leaders how to win the war.
    Oy!
    I wouldn’t let t-RUMP play with my G I Joe’s!

    We are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUCKED!!!
(And it looks like we want to take the rest of the planet down with us).

  3. grannyeagle .. Ya, I know, but it would have increased the odds that that bag of shit wouldn’t be with us today. And that would be a good thing.

  4. The worse part of this withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement is the fact that Trump is making the decision based on total ignorance and stupidity. If he was capable of researching and seeking an honest understanding of what is really involved, and what the significance of the agreement entails then at least you could credit him with sincerity and feel like he looked at it honestly.. But when he lards up his stupidity and disingenuous reasons with phrases like — he’s discharging his solemn duty to protect the American people by withdrawing from the agreement — you know he just trying to mask his insincerity and ignorance. He’s a bag of shit
Where was his solemn duty when his draft board wanted him for induction into the military? I guess it wasn’t fully developed at the time. It was still encased in cowardice.

  5. “It’s a shame that Trump’s father didn’t pull out”

    Swami you are a GENIUS!

  6. I think Trump’s decision was based on two things – first, insulting Yurp & libruls. Second, shoring up support from his base (by insulting Yurp & libruls.) Trump pitching to his base is not new (or stupid.) He’s trying not to be impeached and impeachment has always been a political, not judicial process. Trump wants 90% of republicans to srtongly support him. A week ago Nate Silver wrote:
“…Trump’s base seems to be eroding. There’s been a considerable decline in the number of Americans who strongly approve of Trump, from a peak of around 30 percent in February to just 21 or 22 percent of the electorate now. (The decline in Trump’s strong approval ratings is larger than the overall decline in his approval ratings, in fact.) Far from having unconditional love from his base, Trump has already lost almost a third of his strong support. And voters who strongly disapprove of Trump outnumber those who strongly approve of him by about a 2-to-1 ratio, “

The question, as we proceed with investigations that may turn up criminal actions, is whether the republicans perceive there will be more political fallout from impeachment or from devotion to Trump. It’s all about the next election – not Justice. Democrats who will always loath Trump don’t fit into that equation – Trump followers who ignore all facts also don’t fit into the equation. It’s the Independent voter, who leans toward the GOP who frightens the republican leadership. If the GOP can’t keep that group in the fold, they can’t maintain a majority.

Progressives are pitching hard – to progressives. Polls are focused on the extreme polls of approve or disapprove. The significant segment, we’re not really pitching to (effectively) and the pollsters have not groked. Convince the GOP that hey are losing that group and they will begin impeachment that month.

Pence will be destructive and cunning (instead of destructive and stupid) but the strongly pro-Trump faction will make the Bernie-or-bust fools look like the Boy Scouts. If the GOP impeaches to save the middle, they will lose the far right. What our strategy needs to be is to TAKE the middle if the GOP fails to move. That may not mean throwing our support behind a democrat who will lose in red state – a far smarter strategy will be to back a moderate republican in the primary to unseat the incumbent.

The GOP is in a damned-if-I-do / damned-if-I-don’t position. If democrats are smart (and they aren’t) they will define the conflict around Trump and create a fault line by financing anti-Trump republican challengers in the primary. Using the existing rules re dark money, it can be completely concealed. Threaten incumbent republicans along the lines of the Trump fault line and split the GOP down the middle.

  7. @Doug – let’s not forget that Putin thinks a warming climate will benefit Russia. Everything Trump is doing – dissing Europe, NATO, and the Paris accords – is what Putin wants.

  8. I think Trump is so consumed with the need to show power ( AKA ate up with insecurity) that he bases all his decisions on being contrary to the will of the majority. And anytime he can get a chance to reverse anything that Obama accomplished he’ll jump at it. Trump is mentally unstable.
In life we all experience emotional trauma in varying degrees. Sometimes it’s so benign as not being picked by the teacher to clap the erasers in elementary school, and in other cases it can be so severe as extreme child abuse. But whatever that trauma is and whatever the negative effects of that trauma is on our personality, we all have the ability to overcome the crippling damage and the hold that that trauma has in our lives.
We can either work through and understand how those negative experiences of trauma or emotional upheaval affect our judgment or we can let them control us with insecurity just like they are controlling Trump. He reeks of insecurity.
Maybe he should invite Jesus into his life…because Jesus claims to be able to set the captive free. And Trump is certainly a prisoner of his insecurities.
And he’s a big bag of shit to boot!

  9. as above, he is not a joiner. he wants to piss off the international community and get attention for himself. he never wants to be seen acquiescing except to Putin of course. The immature need to stick his middle finger in the rest of the world’s eye of course shows his lack of character and need to pander to his jerkoff base. The nut jobs really don’t want to admit that science and facts matter . they really want be to angry resentfull aggrieved and uninformed. Besides some people just don’t want change- I think of the young coal miner who had lung disease and wanted a lung transplant so he could go back to the mine. It is a cultural trait of a certain class of white men.Their wives can go back to school and get multiple jobs, but they refuse to adapt and change. Trump has cast his lot with them and with Bannon. This is classic deconstruction. Jackass government. Now it is time for the private sector to grow up and do all they can to meet the future and not expect government to lead.
