The Last Word on the G20 Summit

Chris Uhlmann of Australia Broadcasting Corporation sums up Trump’s performance at the G20 Summit better than anyone else.

ABC’s political editor Chris Uhlmann didn’t pull any punches when he delivered his wrap-up of Trump’s appearance at the conference, calling him an “uneasy, lonely, awkward figure” who was left “isolated and friendless” with “no desire and no capacity to lead the world”. …

Uhlmann also pointed out that given the uncomfortable divide between himself and the most of the other G20 leaders on the Paris Climate Accord, a “deft” President would have found a topic with which to rally them.

“And he had the perfect one: North Korea’s missile tests,” the reporter explained.

“Other leaders expected it [a statement condemning it], they were prepared to back it, but it never came.”

At the end of the two minute video, Uhlmann provided a chilling prediction for the future under this US President.

“Donald Trump has pressed fast forward on the decline of the United States as a global leader. Some will cheer the decline of America, but I think we’ll miss it when it’s gone — and that’s the biggest threat to the values of the West, which he claims to hold so dear.”

  1. “…an “uneasy, lonely, awkward figure” who was left “isolated and friendless” with “no desire and no capacity to lead the world”.”

And his supporters, in their up is down, failure is success world of unreality, will point to this and declare the trip a success. That being “isolated and friendless” in the word are evidence of the “character” of this president and the virtues for which the “American people” sent him to Washington to uphold.

In the backwards and sick minds of Trump’s supporters, there is no higher calling than to be hated in the world.

  2. Seeing that photo of Trump alone at the table gave me a flashback. I remembered one particularly bitter windy Buffalo snowstorm, looking out my back apartment window at an amusing scene. At least a hundred birds of all species, starlings, cardinals, sparrows, crows, finches, even pigeons packed together on the left half of a large bush in wary detente, waiting it out. Way on the right, a single isolated bluejay, agreed by birds everywhere to be the biggest asshole in the bird kingdom perched all alone in the cold wind.

  3. With all due respect to Swami, t-RUMPLE-THIN-sKKKin isn’t just a bag of shit.

He’s a bag of nuclear, chemically-hazardous, bag of shit, which is also full of Anthrax!

    Thanks, t-RUMP-a-LOON-pas, and Republicans!!!

All I’m left with, is that I hope to see you all suffer horribly so I can enjoy something before my own suffering begins.

    FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“DIE! DIE WITH LARGE FESTERING BOILS!!! DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!” *

Ok, I got that off my chest.
Of course, I don’t want them to die.
    I really don’t.
    Do I?
    No.
    I don’t.

  4. Well, if Trump has hastened the demise of US hegemony, at least he has done something right. 🙂 A major effect of American force in the world has been to support multinational corporations, in the mistaken belief that they are American.

  5. we spent blood and treasure to be the ” leader of the world” and he has given it away and thrown it away for nothing. We are going to pal up to Russia to ‘solve cyber security’. like we are going to give his election integrity commission all our data so they can screw our elections and destroy people’s voting rights, up is down and red is green. The so called Christian right is enamored of Putin and the NRA is snugging up to Russia. This flip into Fascism really signals the end of us.

  6. zoomar2 … Speaking of birds… The way Trump styles his hair with those long strands of hair trailing off to the back of his head it kinda reminds me of the coif of a Snowy Egret. Herons have a similar styling also.
I’m still wondering when all this Trump bullshit is going to come to an end. To finally reach a saturation point where the people who are in a position to move him out decide that his antics have gone on long enough. He’s offensive to decency. He has zero reverence for the ideals on which America was founded. I’m sure a lot of that has to do with the fact that he has zero knowledge of what those ideals are, so maybe a little latitude in understanding his obnoxious behaviour might be warranted.
I can’t be emphatic enough in saying what a big bag of shit he is.
Look at the video at the part where it describes him as awkward and lonely as it shows him looking for somewhere to park his ass or for someone to engage with. He’s a pariah. Notice how he finds a vacant chair next to an attractive woman and then does his feigned humility act in an attempt to exhibit his narcissistic charm. You don’t need the dialog to understand what transpired in that scenario. The body language says it all. He throws his hands out in a fishing gesture trying to catch some awe and adulation from an attractive female. I imagine the woman was thinking in her mind..Oh God! How do I get rid of this creep?

  7. Hmm…
    Something just occurred to me:
On the plus side for me, I’m fluent in Russian!
    And I’ve taught it before.

So, as we start to “Russify” under Uncle Vlad and his American concubine (aka: cheap, slutty, stupid, ignorant, bigoted man-whore), Dumb-‘n-old t-RUMPLE-THIN-sKKKin, I can make money trying to teach Russian to his idiot gaggle of t-RUMP-A-LOON-PA’S – no, make that an INFESTATION of t-RUMP-A-LOON-PA’S!

They’ll never actually learn Russian. *
    How could they?
    These stupid/ignorant/bigoted/”MORANS!!!” barely speak English!
And I know from Reich-Wing blogs and comments, how illiterate they are.

But at least I might be able to scrabble by, after our US(Sadly, not an ‘S’ for Socialist) Congress takes away – or privatizes – our Social Security checks. That will happen a bit after they take away our SS Disability checks.

Payment for lessons will not certainly not be based on what is learned.
It’ll be based on hourly rates.
And the richer a t-RUMP CHUMP is, the higher the hourly.

  8. I’ll be an oracle of the obvious and mention that part of being “leader of the free world” depended on having a dreaded military, but, more important than that, was having a trustworthy, laudable vision of just where we wanted to go. The destination had to be in some measure, a kind of “Promised Land,” that is, a better place. In leading, it would help to have inspired trust and shared some specifics on the nature of this pretty place, along with some practical, achievable goals that would take us there. Trump has been weighed in the balance and found wanting, and so by extension, have the rest of us.

I’m probably reading too much into this, but, Trump strikes me as having fewer marbles than advertised. But, look at the video starting around 1:34. Slow it down if you can. Trump looks blank, as if he doesn’t quite understand what is going on. He looks toward Ivanka, who gives him a small nod, and he suddenly starts to move off, as if he is used to picking up cues from Ivanka, and she is used to providing them. If Trump were a man of merely average wealth, he might be looking at assisted living arrangements.
