Republicans Step on a Rake

Apparently Republicans were eager to release the Comey memos because they believed it would reveal that Comey had leaked classified information. The Creature continued to believe that after the Republicans made the memos public.

However, people who don’t work for Fox News and who have combed through the memos are not finding the classified information that Comey allegedly leaked. Jeremy Stahl explains how the belief in the leaked classified memos comes from sloppy Fox News reporting, not the memos themselves.

When you cut through all the noise, what they really reveal is a senior law enforcement official struggling to figure out in real time how to handle efforts by the president to turn him into a loyalist devoted to carrying out his political will in wildly inappropriate fashion. Comey’s memos recount in new detail that Trump repeatedly demanded his loyalty and that Trump pressed him to drop his probe into his then-national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Weirdly, Trump and his minions are claiming the memos prove “no collusion” and “no obstruction.” Um, no, they don’t.

Given that the shitgibbon will respond to indictments[1] against himself for obstruction and collusion will tweets declaring the indictments "prove" no collusion/obstruction, this is a "dog bites man" story, Maha…

[1] in the event Mueller manages to last long enough to file indictments…

  2. I just thought of a term for this: "The Big Lie"  if you say it loudly enough it will be believed.   Can I take credit for that?

  3. Technically, they’re saying “no obstruction” literally, meaning the word “obstruction” does not turn up in the memos, which is apparently proof there’s no obstruction. That the memos recount contemporaneous discussions, and actually involve the first instance of Trump’s potential obstruction, is not lost on them. They just don’t care.

  4. The more Trump protests his innocence the more he confirms his guilt.

A while back I posted a comment making an analogy between a pack of hyenas savagely attacking a lion and how the Repugs in Congress would attack Trump once he became a political liability. I'd like to extend and amend that analogy to include a scenario of Trump's legal teams savagely feasting on the coffers of GOP donor money to benefit from an exercise in futility. I think a better analogy would be of vultures feeding on a carcass..the carcass being Trump's repeated claims of innocence.

  5. Republicans routinely step on rakes, have doofuses and generally sh**ty people as leaders and yet, thanks to the gullibility of a sizeable segment of the citizenry and inability of dems to figure out how to use this to their advantage, they persist.

  6. And “Justice” is threatening to indict McCabe for… I dunno, whatever. McCabe is suing back for wrongful termination and defamation; Trump and Sessions will lose their shirts— a sight likely to be too horrible to “in-see”. All the world saw Trump’s tweets where his motive for the firing are crystal clear. Or as clear as any of his demented ramblings.

Guliani joining the legal team— a seasoned, top-notch legal genius with current trial lawyer expertise beyond all imagining. And a lawyer husband-wife team from Florida who also have an alligator ranch or something. OK, I made that last bit up.

Question of the day: cabinet members typically serve at the will of the President. At what point does egregious grafting cause some kind of oversight committee to indict? I presume such exists? Or is it another gap the Founders didn’t think necessary?

  7. Trump so much wants to succor punch Comey. I would not want to wager on that becoming reality.  Fox news is not up to the rumble.  Trump, as I have previously stated,  lacks the jab of truth.  Comey scored with the moral moron punch.  He is going to need more than what he has in his failing loyalist camp's skill package to counter.

What he has done with the memos, is to us out here to us in the wilderness, termed an air ball.  But that would mix a metaphor. The boxing term equivalent to an air ball, if it has the same emotional impact, would work I suppose.

  8. “The president then wrapped up our conversation by returning to the issue of finding leakers,” Comey wrote in a memo dated Feb. 14, 2017. Comey talked about the difficulty of pinpointing leakers and “the value of putting a head on a pike as a message.” Trump “replied by saying it may involve putting reporters in jail.”

“They spend a couple days in jail, make a new friend, and they are ready to talk,” Comey quoted the president as saying.

I wonder what Trump means by saying they "make a new friend". Could he mean making a new friend like Cohen is going to be making when he does his stretch in Attica? Cohen is going to find a new meaning in the expression…You've got a friend in Jesus…or Chico.

  9. It looks like the GOP is all-in with the NBA.

    NO!

    Not the National Basketball Association.

    It's the National Boomarang Party!!!

Whatever they fling bullshit at the Dem's or media, they'r'e surprised when they feel something wet hit them in the back of their empty heads.
