  1. They may be bracing indeed. A recent poll (msnbc, I think) showed 87% favored impeachment if Bush illegally wire tapped Americans.
The faith based administration seems to be loosing its’ foundation.
Will George admit he “don’t know Jack”.
I’m bettin’ he will.In a way he would be telling the truth.

  2. Chris matthews just said on MSNBC (not on his show ) that the American people WANT to give up their privacy to be safe.

I just today finished re -reading George Orwell’s 1984 , maybe chris should pick up a copy , for a peak at our potential future. It seems hope-less to expect our congress to protect our rights .

Those who have read the book will remember these words which are stuck in my mind “WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY,and IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH”….

Perhaps it is time for the American people to form a group that will demand communications companies be served a proper warrant from the government prior to giving out any information.I recall in 2001 getting a “privacy” insert from the phone company with my bill, i read it briefly, not paying too much attention to it but now it all makes sense,in the insert it said they would comply with any government request for information. At the time I was fine with that, because I believed that entailed the government getting a warrant to make such requests. Now I read it to mean just a government request,, no warrant,, just a request. If that is going to be the way communications companies are going to conduct business PEOPLE should rebel and stand up to these companies who are NOTHING without customers.

  3. Chris matthews just said on MSNBC (not on his show ) that the American people WANT to give up their privacy to be safe.

Has anybody actually explained to the American people that they’re being asked to give up privacy to be safe?

  4. Funny, we didn’t need to give up privacy during the cold war with a gazillion nuclear missiles aimed at us ( remember the “duck and cover” drills in school?)
The Bushites are using 9/11 as an excuse to expand the PNAC.
Oh, I forgot, this new enemy hides in caves which makes them extra scary.Jeesh!!

  5. There are plenty of people who would give up privacy to be safe. They’re living in the “I don’t do anything wrong, so I have nothing to hide” mentality that displays an insanely naive trust for the people who make up our government.

  6. I think they put this kind of story out to discourage people by raising false hope. This rag also put out the story that Cheney was cut out of the loop in regard to national security issues in the Bush administration for some supposed infaction. Both of these stories while lifting my hopes, ultimately left me with a feeling of despair and hoplessness that Bush could be held to account. It’s almost a taunt in disguise. I don’t trust it.
