  1. Maha,

What I find worrisome, is the website itself. I find it ironic that the story is railing against the real and or perceived threats from the “big money” telecom industry, and how they may or may not shut blogs down. Take a good long look at his/her website. It is filled with ads, so many I can hardly follow the story. Is it not ironic ? If the internet is “shut down” it will be partial, and for the same reasons that T.V. and print, have been compromised. There is money to be made and big Media and Ma Bell can’t have these intellectuals fucking up the money trail. I have been following this issue for some time, but doesn’t the fact that Huffington Post is filled with “Bad Credit” advertisements sort of tarnish the story?

  2. A lot of us are having trouble following the issue, and understanding what it is we stand to lose. It doesn’t help when commentary on the subject appears to be laced with ass-backwards rhetoric, for instance when Mr. McCurry says, “What content is being denied? What service is being degraded?” As I understand it, in fact he’s promoting huge changes to the Internet that will selectively deny content and degrade service, for the purpose of profit and control.

But I still wonder… am understanding correctly? Somebody’s taking a stroll in Bizarro World; I hope it’s not me.

  3. This is disturbing on so many levels. As I said before, the effects to free speech aside , this effort will cause big business to kiss congressional ass instead of senators out begging…this is even worse because it will make the representatives of the people like royality to business even more then now…They will be falling all over themselves to be in the favor of congress, trying not to be blacklisted from the internet or trying to keep top listing…if you think politics is corrupt now,, just wait…maybe we should all become pimps and bring our members of congress into our stable if they are going to act like even bigger ho’s then they do already….

This is 100% off topic,, but it is bothering me so bad I have to ask if I am the only one who has noticed in the past 2 days the white house has stolen Toyota’s “Moving forward” ad campaign!?
In the Monday and Tue press briefing “move forward” or “moving forward” was said at least 50 times each day….it is their new line for all issuses, kinda a multi-purpose STOLEN phrase….How many mega millions has bush co. bilked out of the American people to hire ad folks to try to brainwash people all over the world into buying what ever piece of crap he wants to sell us? And all this time all he had to do was STEAL an ad idea from a car company?(I guess hyndai’s “everyday is a winding road ” ad was out what with all that “corner turning”… gotta keep on message…) …….Toyota should sue , lest someone compare their cars to bush’s sinking ship….

The white house has reached an all time low by using a stolen ad from a car company,,,,PATHETIC!!!…Check out WH briefings yourself at c-span.org …
