  1. “The press is never going to report judicial opinions accurately.”

What the . . . ? I suppose one thing that most spectra of American politics would agree to do is to criticize the media. But this kind of blanket assertion is ultimately the death of any sort of judicial accountability, and therefore of the notion that the judiciary is part of a democratic system of government.

If the press will “never” get it right, how can any if us poor mortals understand anything the Olympian judges have to say, then? Attwood is right about Scalia’s contempt for all of us.

If impeachment of the vile nincompoop in the Oval Office is off the table, how about some hearings into judicial ethics, starting with the duck hunter?

  2. “The more your courts become policy-makers, the less sense it makes to have them entirely independent.”

That’s in the same category as comments by King George about activist judges legislating from the bench. And I am not going to say I agree with the legal reasoning behind all the most liberal rulings. BUT..

Compare those comments with signing statements, which have NO LEGAL BASIS and are a direct contradiction of the Oath of Office. It may be the biggest power grab in the history of the Presidency. Activist Judges?? Give me a BREAK!!!Where is the outcry from the Congress and the Courts??
