Maybe Somebody Should Tell Them

Less than half of Republicans know Rudy is pro-choice.

This may tell us why Republicans are Republicans — they don’t know shit about what’s going on.

  1. from the Internets:

George w. Bush is out jogging one morning, notices a little boy on the corner with a box. Curious, he runs over to the child and says, “What’s in the box kid?”

The little boy says, “Kittens, they’re brand new kittens.”

George W. laughs and says, “What kind of kittens are they?”

    “Republicans,” the child says.

“Oh that’s cute,” George W. says and he runs off.

A couple of days later George is running with his buddy Dick Cheney and he spies the same boy with his box just ahead.

George W. says to Dick, “You gotta check this out” and they both jog over to the boy with the box. George W. says, “Look in the box Dick, isn’t that cute? Look at those little kittens. Hey kid tell my friend Dick what kind of kittens they are.”

    The boy replies, “They’re Democrats.”

“Whoa!”, George W. says, “I came by here the other day and you said they were Republicans. What’s up?”

“Well,” the kid says, “Their eyes are open now”

  2. Well it seems to me one big question is how many Democrats know that Guiliani is pro-choice? Until that’s assessed, it’s hard to say whether or not any segment of the mass electorate is any more well informed than others.

However, the numbers themselves are interesting, such as less than half overall rating abortion as the “most important” issue. Which is interesting. Split in the party, anyone?

  3. Well, last election there was at least one study which showed that Kerry supporters were far more likely to know what Kerry’s poisitions were than Bush supporters knew what Bush’s positions were, which is really remarkable since Bush had been in his bully pulpit for nearly 4 years by then. I’d say that question has been assessed already, even though it’s an attempt to sidetrack and obscure the established fact that GOP supporters are incredibly ill-informed.

  4. Have they started marketing the Eau de Rudy? It sounds like a scent for me..a manly musk that makes the other alpha males take notice. Maybe they’d think I was a powerful hunter. Who knows, maybe they might even find themselves eyeing my basket?
