I guess I suspected this. Quite amazing really. I understand Europe laughs at us about this, among other things. Here in the South, I am surrounded by otherwise intelligent beings who are extremely uncomfortable with the idea of evolution.

Ain’t that the truth. of ten people in my department, two could be classified as “Taliban” Christians, a third is damned close, two others consider themselves “Good Christians”, although they fully supported George Bush and his wars . Another believes in God because there are fish in the ocean (?), one more is a main stream protestant, thinks maybe about the evo thingie, myself and another guy are atheists, although he is afraid to admit it to the others, I don’t give a fuck what they think. When the hurricanes struck my neighborhood 3 years ago, none of my “Christian” fellow workers offered any help at all, and my property was TRASHED.
This place is chock full of lame-brained knuckle draggers that simply can’t understand evolution, they think the idea of our race “coming from monkeys” is silly. They don’t even have a hint of what Darwin’s theory is, they’re stuck on stupid
These are the days of lazers in the jungle, miracle and wonder, but we will debate Evolution vs “Creationism”. Amazing.
