I’m Back!

Had a lovely mini-vacation messing around in Philly. I get back and find our ol’ friend George Zimmerman is back in the news!

Once again, a 911 call to police involving George Zimmerman sends chills down the spine. This time it’s Shellie Zimmerman, calling the cops on her estranged husband, the killer of Trayvon Martin who was acquitted of second-degree murder charges in July. And if you have followed the Zimmerman case as closely as I have the five-minute call and the aftermath will give a sickening sense of deja vu.

“[H]e’s in his car,” Shellie tells police. “And he continually has his hands on his gun and he keeps saying, ‘Step closer.” He’s just threatening all of us with his firearm — and he’s going to shoot us.” She tells the dispatcher that George “accosted my father” and “punched my dad in the nose.” In addition, he “took my iPad out of my hands and smashed it.”

As scary as that sounds, it’s what Shellie says next that is frightening. “I’m really, really afraid,” she said. “I don’t know what he’s capable of. I’m really, really scared.” At one point, she yells at her father to “get back inside; George might start shooting at us.”

Jonathan Capehart also reminds us,

George’s counter-claim that Shellie was the aggressor today at her parents’ home in Lake Mary, Fla., is a near-replay of what happened in Aug. 2005. Back then, Zimmerman’s former fiance sought a restraining order against him because of domestic violence. So, he sought a restraining order against her in return.

Zimmerman was released because the wife and father-in-law did not press charges, and there could be many reasons for that. However,

  1. I don’t understand what’s going on with that. Florida has passed strong domestic violence laws where the decision to arrest is left up to the police. They advertise the law by saying: If the police get called, somebody is going to jail. They’ve taken away the need to press charges because they realize that it puts a burden on the police and the one who is subjected to violence.
My understanding of the law also says that any destruction of property with the intent to intimidate is considered a display of violence also.. a poor guy can’t even punch a hole in the wall or smash up the house to keep his old lady in line any more.. bummer!
So if Zimmerman smashed an Ipad like his wife claims, then I don’t understand why the police didn’t arrest and charge him. Something ain’t right. It’s not like police have to do a comprehensive investigation to understand what happened. Either his wife was lying to 911 or he has to be guilty of domestic violence. Let’s see where this goes.

  2. Welcome back, Maha. I’ll have you know that I was the adult in the room.. Gulag needs to be given a time out or something.

  3. Zimmerman is proudly following in the footsteps of his mentor, OJ Simpson. Seems like just the type of guy you want to use as the community watchman.

  4. They never should have tried him in Florida on the Martin case; FLorida is too f***ed-up. I hope Holder will eventually be able to drag him in for Federal charges, like they should have done in the first place. Thug, with a capital “T”.

  5. ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
    Doug,
    ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I wasn’t the guy screaming “TOGA!”

And yes, I suppose I might jump off a bridge if one of my friends did.

As for Zimmerman, he’s a stupid, ignorant, and violent sociopathic asshole.
And you can’t fix his kind of stupid or ignorant – and the state, basically, recently ok’d his brand of violent insanity.

They need to put this violent moron behind bars for a while before he kills – AGAIN!

But if they do, they know that if he’s allowed into the general population in a jail, and not completely isolated, he’s a dead man cowering while he’s walking, sleeping, eating, pooping, etc.

This Zimmerman punk ain’t nothin’ without a gun in his hand.
And in prison, he won’t have access to one.
And if he wants act tough, he’ll have to really be tough. Unlike in the rest of this country, where any and every stupid and ignorant sociopathic moron like this punk, can up-arm before going to get a cup of coffee at a Starbucks, or a greasy meat-glue burger at a Mickey D’s.

And, not OT – guns aren’t any part of the solution in this country, they are a large part of the problem.
But you can’t tell gun-loons that.
Now it looks like even blind people, who aren’t allowed to drive a vehicle, will be allowed to own a gun.

I guess we’ll just have to hope that they won’t shoot the mailman when they feel threatened in this homes, or their own poor guide-dog, when they’re out walking.

The insanity, the “TEH STOOOOOOOPID!!!”, never stops.
    In this country, it’s relentless.

  6. OT, and OY!
According to this story, Cheney was planning on bombing Russia when they were fighting with the Chechen’s – and it explains Russia’s interests in Syria pretty well:

PS: This link is only open today, because it’s a site where you normally have to pay, so if you’re interested, don’t dawdle.

I’ll take the Cheney bit with a large grain of salt, but it’s not like that clown wasn’t f*cking crazy enough.
When George W. Bush was the sane one in any room, you have to realize how close we came to nuclear war, and the end of human life on this planet.

  7. I take it Philly is still there! No W.C. Fields quotes from me, no ma’am.

Still working on a joke about how that Ipad threatened Zimmerman. “Slow motion train wreck” pretty much sums him up anyway.

  8. I don’t get this; why do the police believe whatever Zimmerman says, no matter what? He hit his father in law, smashed his wife’s iPad and threatened them both with a gun. Even if his wife and her father aren’t pressing charges, you’d think given all this, and his history, they would. If this had been anyone else, they would have been charged or at least “held over while the police investigates the incident.”

Zimmerman is a socio/psychopath for sure. He’s the last person who should be allowed to walk around with a gun.

  9. Zimmerman is now on a first name basis with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Dept. He’s getting busted so much he’s gonna be like Otis was with Sheriff Taylor and the Mayberry jail. He’ll just let himself in.

  10. I wonder if Zimmy was looking for some sugar.. You know a man can work up an appetite for a little female affection after dragging around a loaded 9 mm all day in the hot Florida sun. Doesn’t Florida have a stand your ground type law pertaining to conjugal rights?

  11. Maha I want you to know others talked me into finding your pot stash… and I found it, but I did the responsible thing and I didn’t share. Also your cookies are gone. Sorry.

And back to the gz thing…. what a giant douche bag. It is my understanding that Fla is very proud of their stand your ground law. Too bad someone doesn’t do us all a favor and use it. Karma is a bitch and it will be back around to see good ole georgie.

  12. The medical examiner who testified in the Martin case is suing the prosecution, accusing them of “throwing the case.” Zimmerman is smart and probably has a lifetime get-out-of-jail-free card as long as he keeps the focus on women and black children. I keep thinking that the efficacy of some really bad law, the state justice system and law enforcement names will be challenged should George Zimmerman ever be convicted of anything. Any arrest would also be humiliating to all those who claimed or though his case to be righteous. But the embarrassment can’t be avoided as Zimmerman is exposed even further as a frightened little man who can’t take rejection without a gun for protection.
