Trump: A Pathological Liar Who Lies

Naturally, the creature used his remarks on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks to glorify himself.

I was looking out of a window from a building in Midtown Manhattan, directly at the World Trade Center, when I saw a second plane, at a tremendous speed, go into the second tower.  It was then that I realized the world was going to change.  I was no longer going to be — and it could never, ever be — that innocent place that I thought it was.

Soon after, I went down to Ground Zero with men who worked for me to try to help in any little way that we could.  We were not alone.  So many others were scattered around trying to do the same.  They were all trying to help.

He was allegedly in Trump Tower, on 5th Avenue between 56th and 57th streets. Trump Tower is said to have 58 floors. Trump has said he had a window that looked toward lower Manhattan and saw the planes strike the towers. Maybe. I’m skeptical he could have seen much, or anything, from that far away, about four miles. He has claimed elsewhere he could see bodies falling, but I was watching from West 17th street — a great deal closer — and I couldn’t see bodies falling.

But let’s say he could see that the towers were on fire from one of the upper floors in Trump Tower. I am more hysterical over the thought that the guy who made his mark on Manhattan real estate and Atlantic City casinos with the help of the mob ever thought the world was “innocent.”

The part about going to Ground Zero to help is complete bullshit, of course. He’s made these claims before; they’ve already been fact-checked.

Trump claimed that he assisted in cleanup efforts during the 2016 campaign. “Everyone who helped clear the rubble – and I was there, and I watched, and I helped a little bit – but I want to tell you: Those people were amazing,” Trump said.

Trump was near Ground Zero soon after the attacks took place, but the White House has not corroborated the claim that he helped clear out rubble.

Richard Alles, a New York Fire Department retired deputy chief, was on the scene after the attacks. He told us he “was there for several months” and had “no knowledge of (Trump) being down there.”

See also:

According to Richard Alles, a retired deputy chief with the New York Fire Department, Mr. Trump was not a presence at ground zero.

“I spent many months there myself, and I never witnessed him,” Mr. Alles, who was at the Rose Garden event on Monday, said in an interview. “He was a private citizen at the time. I don’t know what kind of role he could have possibly played.”

If he had been there at all, even for an afternoon, somebody would remember it. They don’t. Indeed, for several weeks after the attacks private citizens who had no official business at Ground Zero were kept at a distance from the site. Firefighters and NYPD and members of trained rescue organizations were there, but most of us couldn’t just show up and start helping. The work was too dangerous and required protective gear (of which the responders didn’t get enough). It is absolutely not possible that Trump and Trump employees actually did anything at Ground Zero, especially without people taking note of it at the time.

Back to Trump’s remarks:

We saw American perseverance in the valiant New York firefighters, police officers, first responders, military, and everyday citizens who raced into the crashing towers to rescue innocent people.

I doubt that any “everyday citizens” were allowed to “race” into the towers while they were still standing to “rescue” anybody. Indeed, people who got out did so by walking down the stairs with their own feet. The only people “rescued” were a few people with severe burns who were sent away on ambulances while the towers were still standing, and the handful — twenty people, I believe — who survived the collapse. There really wasn’t a lot of rescuing. With that tragedy, you either were able to get yourself out, or you didn’t. This might seems like a minor quibble, and maybe it is, but it reflects the fact that Trump really doesn’t grasp what happened.

But we all do remember this:

On the day of the attack, Mr. Trump called into WWOR-TV to say that he had a window in Trump Tower that looked directly over the World Trade Center.

As the buildings burned, the show’s anchors praised his real estate prowess in a wide-ranging interview. Mr. Trump said that if he had decided to run for president in 2000, he would have taken a “hard line” on the perpetrators, and that he had “somebody down there” near the attack who had witnessed at least 10 people jumping out of the World Trade Center towers.

He also discussed a building he had in the area.

40 Wall Street actually was the second-tallest building in downtown Manhattan and it was actually, before the World Trade Center, was the tallest — and then, when they built the World Trade Center, it became known as the second tallest,” Mr. Trump said. “And now it’s the tallest.” (It wasn’t.)

Also, Trump gave NO MONEY to 9/11 charities. This has been checked exhausitvely. Nor has he ever retracted his false claim that he saw “thousands and thousands” of Muslims in Jersey City cheering as the towers collapsed.

But now Trump has so corrupted the government he is bullying federal agencies to lie for him. And see especially Greg Sargent, “Trump’s war on truth just got a lot more cult-like.”

  1. Trump is disputing the most recent poll showing his support has dropped below 40%. The exact number isn't important but ALL the polls show support for Trump has dropped an average of 4% this summer. Consumer confidence is slipping and Trump is demanding the prime rate be lowered to ZERO right now. (Panic mode, Donald?) The biggest welfare queens are the huge multinational farming conglomerates lining up for 30 Billion in farm subsidies because of Trump's failed trade war with China.

We're at 'full employment' now, in economic terms. That's good news but there's no place tp go but down. You wouldn't have to dig far – I saw the article recently that CEO's and Wall Street insiders are dumping their stock holdings. As a guess, the corporations are keeping prices up artificially by buying their own stock but when that bubble bursts, lookout. And it will  show up before 2020 because corporations will be downgrading their projected profits based on 1) higher costs and 2) reduced demand. So if that happens in the next quarter, maybe two the jobs numbers will turn negative for the first time since 2009 (or 2010).

Speaking Ex Cathedra from my belly button, Trump's support will bottom out at 35%. I think that's the size of the cult. Trump will scream 'fake news' about the truth that comes out of Congress (tax returns in 2020?) and Trump will demand you ignore the polls. (I'm ahead, trust me.) But I'm predicting that ANY of the top four Democrats would beat Trump in 2020. If that's true, the race IS the primary. The secondary question is if Trump's lack of coattails can turn the Senate.

  2. Allow me to beat my chest here knowing that when I described Trump as being a big bag of shit I absolutely nailed it. Modesty is one of my predominant characteristics, but after reading Trump's glory sucking lies and feeble bullshit I feel compelled to give myself a good pat on the back for such an astute and accurate description of Trump.

It really is a shame that Trump can so devoid of decency as to use a tragedy of such magnitude as 9/11 to try and pass himself off as someone who has a servant's heart. He's just not a liar, he's a cruel liar who desecrates the sacrifice of the first responders who gave their lives on 9/11.

  3. Nine Eleven, looking back, was tragic, but compared to eighteen years later it had a silver lining.  No it wasn't that Trump's skyscraper was in it's rightful place as the tallest building in New York.  The silver lining was that I had barely heard of Donald Trump at the time and missed all his babble..  Oh for the tragic old days when that was true.  Now when we have tragedies, like the recent hurricane, all I get to hear is his babble.  Days after, the treat to Alabama lingered on as the war on truth continued, as he stole the headlines with his nonsense.   I wish someone would make the world like it was eighteen years ago, which was, at least for me, virtually Trump free.  He just adds a larger tragedy to any new tragedy.

  4. Trump is a perfect storm of neuroses and clinical disorders. Presidential historians will be making new friends in the field of psychology for years to come.

Mad King Donald's only asset is luck. He took over a party that runs on exploiting neuroses. He finished a race against someone as unlikable as himself. (Obama was wrong that Hillary is "likeable enough", but there might have been a note of sarcasm in that). And the outcome was determined by the undemocratic and outdated electoral college. The Don has raised failing upward to levels previously imagined only by Jerzy Kosi?ski in his novel Being There.

  5. Here's a little something that is uplifting, yet sometimes painful, if any of you are feeling worn down or defeated by the constant drudge of trying to comprehend the mindset and articulations of the moron who currently occupies the Oval office.

For those who don't have the time or the inclination to devote to listening..please at least treat yourselves to hearing the first 3 minutes and the concluding remarks starting at 38:50 because it gives so much insight into what we've lost as a nation by giving in to our selfish impulses and allowing the inarticulate bag of shit to rise to the level of being the president.

It's no small wonder why Trump has worked so hard to destroy Obama's legacy. As a matter of fact there is a scripture that addresses the very thing we are witnessing with Trump's attempt to dismantle all the positive achievements Obama accomplished.

The light came into the world, and the darkness comprehended it not

  6. Gail Collins played advice columnist today, and her advice is wise and should be heeded.

"Have a great debate night. Probably a good idea to skip the drinking games. There have been some suggestions you should take a shot every time somebody says “existential threat,” but remember, we’re talking about three hours here."

  7. This Trump I-was-there-on-9/11 lie is an outgrowth of the most obvious lie he tells, one that he's been telling for years now — that "people come up to" him and just tell him things.

It has never been true. It is especially untrue of a president, or a major-party presidential candidate. People do NOT just come up to him or call him and tell him things. If our "liberal" media can't get past that one, good luck waiting fr them to call out the rest.

  8. Trump has just called for a ban on all vaping products coming into the United States until we can figure out what the heck is going on.

He also rolled back clean water environmental regulations put in place by the Obama administration. I'm not sure of his motive for doing so, but he claims he's doing sort of a repeal and replace maneuver because Obama couldn't protect the environment as well as he can.  I'll be looking forward to the replace regulations when Trump gets around to putting them in place. In the mean time we can expect serial polluters to act responsibly in the absence of  any legal responsibility by using the goodness of their heart rules.

  9. Swami,

    Thanks for the Obama vidio.

Now THERE was a President! :,-)

    Sigh…

Ok, now back to the orange Satan. 🙁

    No, I can't.  I just can't…

Tomorrow.  As sure as the Sun will rise, so will tRUMP fill the day with lies.

  10. He lies about calls from Chinese officials:

Trump claimed to have gotten two phone calls on Sunday night from high-ranking Chinese officials seeking to negotiate a trade deal. “High-level calls,” he said. Chinese government officials said Monday that they were unaware of any such calls. When Trump asked Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to back him up, Mnuchin would only say there had been “communication,” avoiding the word “call.” The treasury secretary quickly interjected again Monday afternoon to add “communications.”

who tracks Trump’s untruths, counted “at least 8 false claims in his G7 presser, http://www.newcastletreeservicepros.com.au/ plus at least 5 more misleading/questionable/lacking in key context. (Those included his suggestion that doing mandatory environmental impact statements as a developer makes him an environmentalist.)”

  11. This is interesting and for sure people have different views regarding this. All I know is that we should be open to every possibility and to each other's ideas. Great blog anyway! This made me think of putting up like this and think of good content!
