  1. Don’t you mean David Frum, or did I miss something?

If you are wondering about the mystery that is David Frum, might I suggest that in part it’s because he’s Canadian? Generally, we just don’t go in quite as much as the US does for Glen Beck/Rush Limbaugh/Fox News histrionics. But maybe I’m just being a Canadian chauvinist. We have some fairly nasty talk radio here too though I still think the American loonytunes right does it much “better” than we do.

  2. Fund vs. Frum.
    About the same age.
Fund is the oilier of the two.
And I agree with Canadian Reader, it may be his Canadian side which brings him back from the dark side on occasion. And now that he’s been excommunicated from the Ever More Conservative Church of the Latter Day Taint’s, I guess he’s free to be more human.
I always did think he was a good writer. Same for Fund. But it’s nice to have Frum stick this finger in the eye of his fellow travelers every now and then…

  3. “Journalists love whistle-blowers. Just not when the whistle is blown on them. Journalists love transparency. As long as they’re not the ones being exposed. No steadfast journalism rule is unbendable when it comes to justifying and protecting the racket that is modern journalism, specifically, political journalism in the United States today. The ends justify the means …. They lie when they claim to be objective. They lie when they claim to be unbiased, because these so called “truth seekers” are guilty of engaging in open political warfare. And when the whistle is blown, they simply double down.”

The news papers are firing, can they just fire the spin doctors?
I don’t want journalist that lie. I want ones that print the truth.

  4. s,
“I want the ones that print the truth.”
Those were the first ones fired.

  5. these so called “truth seekers” are guilty of engaging in open political warfare. And when the whistle is blown, they simply double down.”

  6. Now I understand.
Where your brain was, you should be glad, is not where Frum’s brain is. At some point it should explode, despite his apparently sincere attempt to morally justify the basic “conservative” views he holds so dear.
