Late Night Riot

This is brilliant. MSNBC’s Dylan Ratigan refused to let Betsy McCaughey hijack the discussion with empty talking points.

I love the line from Ratigan about “corporate communism that is destroying our country.” Whoa.

Elsewhere: The National Republican Congressional Committee thinks Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal should put House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “in her place.” I’m serious.

  1. I’ve seen her on a few shows and she gets wacked everytime, she’s just a shill for the status quo, “tort reform, high risk pools, across state lines”, thats the bullshit they all spew. If those things work so well why didn’t the republicans institute them while they were in charge? She should stick to FAUX news, though she may be a little too old for them!

  2. I’m trying to decide which was my favorite’ “Maybe you’re not used to moderators who require actual answers.” Or his, “That wasn’t an answer, that was a string of accusations.”

There was also Weiner’s “Aha, you finally give a real answer. You want to take Madicare away from everyone under seventy. And you accuse us of trying to scare seniors.”

She plays the “tough guy,” but she is just easy pickings.

  3. Sorry I missed that. Thanks for sharing it here. Maha is a great blog and I love your work.

It appears the republicants have nothing to offer anyone, too bad there are still people who listen and believe them.

  4. That was a great smack down. Congressional Budget Office (CBO) score’s the baucus plan at $829 Billion over a 10 year period, that is paid for. The CBO also states that it will lower the deficit by $81 Billion and it would be much lower if there was a public option.Criminally corrupt politicians are the reason the U.S. is ranked near the bottom of every catagory when ranked next to other modern, industrialized nations. Time for publically funded elections. lieberman $12.6M, mcconnell $7.8M, baucus $7.7M, cornyn $6.7M, kyl $5.6M, grassley $5.4M, ensign $5.2M, conrad $5.1M, cantor $4.9M, nelson $4.9M, burr $4.8M, boehner $4.4M, hatch $4.4M, lincoln $4.1M, vitter $3.9M, carper $3.6M were paid by the Medical Industrial Complex to kill Health Care Reform. 5. McCaughey is too often interviewed by people who accept whatever she spouts, without having researched the facts–so it was great seeing her deer-in-the-headlights expression when her false facts were repeatedly brushed aside, here, with the real thing. Nice, too, how she very civilly offered several opportunities for comebacks, but never had anything to say, because she always falls back on the same small set of misinformation. Classic.
