Here in my little town of Kissimmee,City Commissioner Art Otero sponsored an ordinance to get “IN GOD WE TRUST” added to the city logo. His stated reason:Because he fears the country is moving toward”liberal postures, such as homosexuality,gay marriage,abortion, and the legalization of marajuana.”He got his ordinance voted in, must have been a real tough sale,if he had balls, he’d have tried for “in Allah we trust”.(same God, different handle.)
I suppose these issues are threatening to tear our society apart at any moment, so we gotta nip ’em in the bud.

Good for him. Maybe if more people looked in the mirror, acknowledged who they really are, we’d have a lot less problems in this world.

Yeah, IMO there’s a lot of self-loathing at the bottom of that, plus a compulsion to “prove” oneself worthy to “normal” people. I suspect the same thing of African Americans and other ethnic minorities who work for right-wing causes, and also of women who favor the patriarchy over equality. For women, it’s often a neurotic need to prove to the “daddies” that are good little girls.
