I’ve said this in the past, but I’m glad to see Rachel reinforcing this — Mittens is taking lying to unprecedented levels. His chronic and bare-assed lies on the campaign trail go way beyond “normal” degrees of lies. So yeah, all politicians lie, but not like this.
Mitt 3.0 has a huge mendacity problem.
His programmers need to do some work on that.
Unless the Etch-a-Sketch, clean the slate, shake, and start again, model is the goal?
But don’t forget, Conservatives love being lied to.
It’s the truth they’re allergic to.
Well, they like being reassured that the fantasy world they live in is real. So a lie that confirms what they want to believe is welcomed and accepted. But Mittens doesn’t even get that much right sometimes.
I much appreciate Rachel’s use of the word – L. I. E. She does not dance around it or mince words. Gets to the heart of the matter and stays after it like stink on skunk.
It’s a MORMON thing. Their tradition of “lying for the Lord” goes back to Joseph Smith, who practiced it extensively gave the practice his imprimatur. It’s a Mormon characteristic. They never get how transparent it is.
I must be in need of a drastic calibration of my moral compass…I think Romney’s incessant lying is kinda cute..In like a puppy dog kind of cute.
So can we strap him to the roof of the car and drive him to Ontario?
Sure, but give him tranquilizers first..because he’s so full of shit it could be a real mess if we don’t.
Forget Romney’s candicacy. I don’t know how he looks himself in the mirror every day.

I so appreciate this. I cannot stand lies, especially those from the right. So glad to hear a national figure like Rachel do an excellent exposition. I plan to save this link for those poor misguided Republican family members, should the topic arise.

One night last weekend, as the sun just dipped beneath the horizon, Venus and Jupiter were shining brightly in the West.
I called to my wife “Beach Angel, come out and see Jupiter and Venus rising!”
As we beheld the rising she said “sometimes we forget that we are all riding this space rock together”. One hour later, the night sky was filled with shining stars and planets.
