Nursery School News

At the same time they are hyperventilating about admitting Syrian refugees who might be terrorists, Republicans in Congress are opposing a bill that would block suspecting terrorists from buying guns in the U.S. Because they care more about their toys than anything else, I suppose.

Ben Carson’s campaign doesn’t know where all the states go on a U.S. map.

In the middle of an international crisis, Ted Cruz has a hissy fit and called on the POTUS to insult him to his face. I hope our President takes him up on that.

Meanwhile, the Republican presidential candidates continue to confuse bellicose chest-thumping with intelligent foreign policy.

Oh, and Gov. Kasich proposed a new government agency to promote Judeo-Christian values around the globe. If those are the same values that cause us to turn away desperate refugees, maybe we should can that. We might need shelter some day ourselves.

  1. Yes, GOP, let’s play the hate/fear/bigotry cards trying to appease and inflame your rubes, while at the same time, allowing terrorist ‘jokers’ to run around with one-eyed steel gun-barrels!

    Yèèeeeeeeeeeeesh…

Teddy “Cruz-ader,” is a typical bully.
All Obama needs to do, is give that turd his patented “More in sorrow, than in anger” look,” and Teddy will look smaller than a Lego figure.
How do you say, “‘I”m melting!…”, in Canadian-tinged Cuban?

For a new Op-ed comic depiction of the GOP, let’s have an elephant in one frame pounding its massive chest in bellicose rage at something/one – and in the next one, shrieking in terror as it hops on a stool, when spying a mouse!

    Also too – Yeeeeeeeeeeeeesh…………

  2. “Ted Cruz has a hissy fit and called on the POTUS to insult him to his face. I hope our President takes him up on that”

Yeah what does that even mean is Rapheal challenging Obama to a duel? I really think the righties along with the corporate media are really blowing this refugee threat way out of proportion but nothing sells soap and gets GOP primary votes like fear of brown folk, especially the ones with funny names from scary places! That being said Obama really isn’t doing his democratic allies running for office any favors. Everyone knows the folks that run the MSM in this country will continue to demonize Islam and they will make anyone who defends them unconditionally pay. I think Obama should say that in light of the civil war and unrest in Syria that refugees from there will be scrutinized more carefully, take the argument away from the baggers, make them say outright that they do not want people of a certain faith coming to this country. Then ask them when they will be deporting the ones who are already here?

  3. Whenever I think the Republicans have reached rock bottom, I discover yet again, they ain’t scratched the surface yet! And I am sure I will say this for the rest of my mortal life!

  4. They’re all sick..Cruz is a cowardly little snipe..just like a kid who antagonises a tiger at the zoo from behind the safety of the bars. He knows that Obama can’t engage him or dignify his challenge to a debate with a response. If Cruz and Obama ever locked horns in a debate..Cruz would get destroyed. He’s a master at quibbling and deflection, but his intellectual prowess is an illusion. Oh, did you know he was a pallbearer for Justice Rhenquist?
Once you’ve gotten past his projected image as some sort of a heavyweight and figured out his act, it becomes so easy to see what an empty suit he really is. He’s a bullshit artist!

  5. If I were Obama, I’d send all the Syrian refugees to red states where the governors tried to ban them. Immigration is a federal function, you know. The states have no say.

Our lying sack-of-“waste” Governor (NC) said citizens were asking him to ban refugees. Like hell they were, the Paris thing just happened Paris Friday.

Hear the one about Vitter (la) pushing a ban? Apparently, he is unaware his Catholic wife, whom he apparently does not spend much quality time with, is running a sanctuary through her local diocese. Oops.

  6. Wow, expect the fear frenzy to get ratched up over this bit of news! Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t France seem to be making some of the same mistakes that we made following 9-11, poorly planned bombing military adventures, hastily written anti-terror (reversal of civil liberties) laws?

    • uncledad: I didn’t like the Sean Illing Salon article much at all, actually. Nobody is saying there aren’t big problems *within* Islam; just that the problem isn’t *Islam itself*.

  7. “I didn’t like the Sean Illing Salon article much at all”

I wondered about it, it is a bit conciliatory to the xenophobic hate but I think he has some good points. My feeling is we are on the right side of this issue (continuing to provide safe harbor to refugees) but the politicians on our side need to realize how the corporate media is going to play this game. Obama’s doing his best but does not seem to be getting much backup from the dems, though Senator Warren gave a great speech on the issue yesterday. If more dems would strike a similar tone just as loudly as the baggers then Obama could offer a more measured message, but I think he’s running out of f#ck’s to give?

  8. Curious fool that I am, I had to click uncledad’s “Klingon Jesus” link. Yay! I can never un-see that.

And Ben Carson thinks Muslims are nuts!

  9. “Didn’t the Nazi’s in 1940’s Germany make the Jews wear a yellow patch?”

Still waiting for a federal gun registry. Crickets…..

Seems to me OUR cops kill more innocent people in a bad year than the terrorists killed in Paris. Not even mentioning mass shootings, crimes, suicides.

Republicans REALLY, REALLY suck with numbers. And geography (see Carson’s us map?). And foreign policy. And, most importantly, science.

  10. Your own personal Jesus
    Someone to hear your prayers
    Someone who cares
    Feeling alone
    and you’re all alone
    Flesh and bone
    by the telephone
    Lift up the receiver
    I’ll make you a believer !
Reach out and touch faith !

  11. Suppose a political party or presidential candidate was to attack ‘Radical Christianity’ and suggest that to protect the people form senseless violence from the clergy, extreme and intrusive surveillance of all minsters and priests is warrentented.

If you ONLY look at fatalities due to botched exorcisms, there’s a considerable tally.

“FLOYD, Va. – A Virginia man who said his 2-year-old daughter was possessed by a demon has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for her death….first deputy who arrived saw “several Hispanics holding Bibles” standing on the deck of the mobile home.”

    Number Two –

“Kyung Jae Chung, 53, died July 4 after consenting to an exorcism in which she was struck and several men stood on her chest. She also was stomped in the hours-long ritual held in Koreatown and at a Century City condominium.

Sixteen of Chung’s ribs were broken. The muscles in her thighs were so damaged that tissue had died. Her internal organs were displaced and crushed, and a vein leading to her heart was torn. ”

    Number Three –

“ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — Two Maryland women have been indicted in the stabbings of four children in what authorities say the women believed was an exorcism.”

    Number Four

“A 22-year-old pastor-in-training is facing criminal charges in Bloomington after allegedly trying to perform an exorcism on an autistic teenager.

Monroe County sheriff’s officials say Eddie Uyesugi of Paoli persuaded a woman in his church her 14-year-old son had demons, not autism, and had her pull the boy out of a group home so he could do an exorcism. ”

    Number Five

“The rapper boyfriend of Morgan Freeman’s step-granddaughter has been charged with second-degree murder after she was fatally stabbed on a Manhattan sidewalk in an apparent cocaine-fueled exorcism.”

Number Six (non-fatal but worth mentioning)

“A pastor previously accused of sexually assaulting a woman during exorcism sessions is facing additional charges after Toronto police say another victim has come forward.”

Obviously, radical practitioners of the bible are completely out of control and extreme measures are warranted. And if you think otherwise, please apply that reasoning to Islam and I’m a happy camper.

  12. Doug,
It’ll all be ok for these perps.
They’ll say Jesus told them to do it, and that he forgave them!

How many people has Mohammed forgiven lately, huh?
    Oy……………
