IMPEACHED

I’m not at all well, but I hauled myself off the sofa to note that The Creature has been impeached and that Nancy Pelosi may not send the articles to the Senate until there is an agreement on a reasonable trial procedure. Stay tuned.

I also want to note that Tulsi Gabbard was absent for all the debates but showed up for the vote just to vote “present.” I assume that somewhere in her flakey little head she believed she was making a statement.

  1. The most important thing you can do now is to get better.  Rest and take care of yourself.   We'll all still be here when you get back on your feet.

    Be well.

  3. Get well, Maha. Scary that whatever you've got is proving hard to shake.

Tulsi Gabbard? Didn't know much about her before, but her vote of "present" tipped my mental scales sharply against her.

Great column by Jennifer Rubin in the Wapo.

Got an appeal in the mail a couple days ago from Chuck Schumer to help out Senate Democrats. He and other Dems (somebody I was watching last night on MSNBC) are making the point that Republicans are now at war and are only getting started to fight this impeachment thing. It’s really an “all hands on deck” situation for the rank and file (me). This is not the time to hang back.

  4. I'm glad to hear that Pelosi isn't going to send the impeachment over to the Senate just yet. I think its good that Trump gets to savor the warmth and humiliation of his hard earned impeachment.

The jerkoff is so dense that he doesn't understand the full ramifications of what just transpired. " Gee, it doesn't feel like an impeachment".. He can rationalize it, or delude himself in whatever manor he needs to to continue in his denial, but the reality is, it's his legacy and reputation that will bear the wounds of his stupidity and corruption.

His children, grandchildren, and all descendants who carry his lineage will forever have to add a note of excuse to proclaim his victimization if they ever want to claim the distinction of having a relative who was the President of the United States. When was the last time you've heard someone boasting that their great, great grandfather was Benedict Arnold? or Jim Jones was my uncle, or John Wayne Gacy is my dad.

  5. Congratulations, folks. The orange kaiju now bears a permanent narcissistic injury. Normally I'd worry that this would inspire him to excesses, but he was never normal, and he was already dialed up to 11. The wound to his ego will impair the efficiency of him and the crooks around him. Good!

  6. I join everyone else in wishing you well, Barbara.

It's possible Trump has found the limits of useful propaganda. Of course his base of nihilistic, frightened, deluded freaks will follow him mindlessly, but he's split the Republican party too:

    https://lincolnproject.us/

The Lincoln Project is made up of Republicans who will buy ads to defeat Trump in 2020. During the impeachment hearings the House Republicans' histrionics were consistent in message, but lacked the self-assurance that has characterized them in the past. Most just sounded bored or deranged.

  7. https://news.yahoo.com/putin-says-impeachment-case-against-113211628.html

Putin is taunting Trump. He knows that by saying anything he's aggravating Trump's situation and that Trump isn't in a position to say a damned thing about. It's a similar situation to what Trump has done to Zelensky in forcing him to say that Trump didn't exert any pressure on him.

    What goes around comes around?

When the accusation that all roads lead to Putin is being tossed around, you certainly don't need Putin advocating on your behalf. But who knows, it could be that Trump and Putin are just playing a friendly game of authoritarian grab ass. I got ya, buddy!

  8. Fortunately, people heal and fight off various maladies.  Unfortunately, this takes longer the older we get..  Our patience for the process does not normally get longer with it.  Dealing with the wait seems a big part of the challenge.  So that said, wishing you good diversions as you await recovery.

  9. I believe that this impeachment is the only time in his gilded grifting (waste of a) life that tRUMP has been held responsible!

I love that Nancy is holding onto the impeachment documents instead of immediately sending them in to Moscow Mitch.  If he was planning on wiping his turtle ass with them, hopefully the MFer will explode while he waits!

Nancy has out-foxed the ancient turtle so far!

Hopefully, she can get Moscow Mitch to allow witnesses.

Also, by holding on to them, maybe some more info will come in, and they can incorporate it somehow!

I doubt anything will stop MM from letting tRUMP skate, but maybe along the way, DUMB-DUMB Donny will get some more grievous political wounds!!!

  10. Has it occurred to anyone else that Trump's personal lawyer is acting like an Attorney General with a faux investigation of Biden with criminal accusations? And the A/G is acting like Trump's personal lawyer by buffering and spinning adverse reports of misconduct?

  11. Secret ballot. The only way this is going to get done is to give the GOP senate cowards a way to vote Orange Foolius out without the gun-totin' biblethumper goobers finding out.

  12. Well you've got to give Trump for thinking outside of the box. I remember Ted Kennedy's eulogy of his brother Bobby were he said something to the affect that, some men see things that are, and ask why. Bobby saw things that never were and asked , why not?

That same dynamic could apply to Trump in the sense that with his upcoming trial in the Senate being delayed by Nancy Pelosi he's suggesting that McConnell conduct the trial without the Articles of Impeachment being delivered and exonerate him by default. That's certainly a novel concept, ya think? You can't get more outside the box than that.. and it surely lives up to the billing of seeing things that never were and asking, why not?

Anyway it's all good..Trump is sweating his fate and his thoughts are echoing the words of Job, of biblical fame..."That which I've feared the most has come upon me."
