I’m just now catching up to something Marjorie Taylor Greene said over the weekend:
The Georgia Republican spoke Saturday at a dinner hosted by the New York Young Republican Club and recounted how her critics have incorrectly labeled her an organizer of the insurrection that left one person shot dead and led to the deaths of two other police officers.
“I want to tell you something, if Steve Bannon and I had organized that, we would have won. Not to mention, we would’ve been armed,” she said Saturday, according to the New York Post.
We all know MTG is dumber than a drawer full of odd socks, but there is no excuse for this. And there needs to be some kind of response to it, with teeth. Taking up arms against the government is not a joke. The White House has already issued a disapproving statement, but that’s not enough. The last time members of Congress openly advocated armed insurrection was just before the Civil War, I suspect.
At the GOP dinner on Saturday night, Greene didn’t limit her comments to boasting that she and Bannon could have ended democracy as we know it on Jan. 6. She complained about policies to protect transgender children in the classroom and claimed that “teachers can pass around dildos, butt plugs and lube.”
I keep saying, the only way to understand where the Right is coming from is to imagine they are all ten-year-old boys. Rolling Stone also reminds us that they have testimony MTG was in on the planning of January 6.
Two anonymous sources who organized the pro-Trump rally that preceded the Capitol attack have told Rolling Stone they recalled working with Greene on the rally. “I remember Marjorie Taylor Greene specifically,” one organizer said. “I remember talking to probably close to a dozen other members at one point or another or their staffs.”
Just for fun I looked up MTG’s district. Maybe we could persuade them to secede again. Just the district, of course, not the whole state of Georgia. If they like MTG they must want another Civil War.
Marge knows how they crime!! Blame, shame, and then shoot it up,… that is today's game. How do they monetize it though, is the question. The TV-reality-star money only goes so far if that is what Schmitt is after.
The Republican goal is to push the boundaries. Find someone with no self-respect to push the boundaries and then work to establish a new boundary. Most children work that way, until they grow up, say get to seven years old.
You got that right! And they couldn't push those boundaries without a compliant media. As long as they have FOX news all the other "networks" will play along.
As I have said before, you cannot reason with someone who has faulty logic. An appeal to emotions does not work with someone who is emotionally twisted. A moral or ethical argument assumes that person has morals or ethics and respects them. It seems MTG has the trifecta. Ergo, she demands to play in her world of brute force. The world of might makes right.
Unfortunately, there is a pathetic district who sent her as their representative. I pity anyone from that district who has a bit of logic, ethics, morals, and/or appropriate emotions. Those people undoubtedly feel embarrassed and unrepresented. I often sing a bit of the red state blues myself, but I think if I lived in her district I would have to sell out and move. The guilt by association would be overwhelming.
I suspect that this district was in Sherman's March to the Sea and are true Confederates and still want their revenge.

It's a little north of Sherman's march route, I believe. But speaking as a descendant of one of Sherman's "bummers," I'm sure if Crazy Bill were still around he wouldn't hesitate to round up the boys and give the district a visit.
Yeah, as Smedley said, war is a racket. They all know how to do the crimes to get the money and/or the plantation back in order.

That may be technically true but the GOP has been using what they perceive as a citizens right to "put down a tyrannical government" as justification for the sale of assault weapons for years now. They have been singing this tune since at least the ill fated "Occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge" back in 2016. When they said a citizen has the right to "put down a tyrannical government" they are essentially endorsing the killing of police. and US military personnel, I've never understood why the democrats have seemed to let this go without much push back, seems like a ready made campaign issue to me? Anyway I agree that MTG is way over her skis here but with the GOP set to take the gavel I doubt much will be done internally, hopefully as you say she attracts the attention of Jack Smith's Grand Jury!

Interesting that Trump did not appeal. When that window expired, so did Judge Loose Cannon's intervention for Trump.

She's torched her career as a judge. She may not lose her present position, but she won't be moving up.

I'm inclined to think MTG was one of the Congress-critters who provided "Insurrection Tours" before J6. I'm not saying I've seen absolute proof, but I've seen reports. MTG was generally denying those reports in one breath while declaring her support for what they tried to do. She specifically mourned that the protesters weren't armed
Admitting it's a theory, suppose MTG was as supportive of the insurrection before it happened as she is now, almost two years later. IMO, the plan on J6 was to take hostages, kill some, hold some, and take power. It was a coup attempt. MTG has been open about wanting progressives dead and I don't think it's any more rhetoical than the Nazis were.
Yes, I think she's as stupid as the cartoons make her out to be and a lot more malicious than any cartoon has (or can) depict. IMO, her devotion to Trump stems from Trump's malice and cruelty. She wants Trump back in power and even MTG can see that will not happen through the electoral process. Hold that thought: MTG KNOWS it won't happen in a free and fair election.
It's my opinion, she's fully aware of what has to happen for Trump to return to the Oval Office – he has to win the primary to create the facade of legitimacy. Then do a coup with guns after Trump loses the November election.
I hope you are skeptical of my theory. Be suspicious. If I'm right, Trump will continue to cultivate alliances with the most violent factions, people like Fuentes. Look to the top tier of Trump faithful, MTG, Bannon, Roger Stone, and Erik Prince. Keep an eye on Rudy Guiliani, Mark Meadows, and Kevin McCarthy. Trump "threw together" a coup attempt and it damn near worked. This time, Trump doesn't have the advantage of being in power but he learned from the failed attempt.

It's been ages since I read the book or saw the movie, but I'm pretty damn sure the trio of friends who went down the river in "Deliverance" started off on their misadventure in what's now her district.

The problem isn't MTG nor is it the "Deliverance" district where she came from. The problem is the NY Young Republicans, and thousands or millions like them who completely ate up what she was saying.
Also she doesn't need Trump anymore – I'm sure Greene and Bannon will have no trouble forgetting about him, as he sinks deeper into legal trouble. Consider that TFG is almost as old as Biden (a saying I wish didn't come to mind so easily), she and Matt Gaetz are a generation or two younger.
As a world-class practical joke, cue up the opening chords os "Dueling Banjos" at an event just before MTG takes the stage…
Let's be specific of what she said. By what she said, does she mean that she would have ensured that Mike Pence had been hanged?
Did she mean that Nancy Pelosi would have been found and dragged of the capitol building by hair, which by the way would most likely kill the 80 year old?
Would she and Bannon beat up any Democrat they came across?
What kind of picture and lesson would that teach the children?
