This is just a quick note to let you know I haven’t evaporated and advise you to rest up tomorrow for the rest of the week. Among other upcoming events will be the Republican midterm convention featuring Peak Trump. I will not be watching if it’s televised. There’s to be a Charlie Kirk memorial on September 10th that I intend to entirely ignore. (See MAGA Is Mourning Charlie Kirk With Ridiculous AI Slop Merch) And then Friday is the 25th anniversary of September 11. Plus midterm mail-in ballots are already being mailed to voters in some places, even as Trump frantically and unconstitutionally is trying to take over the mail-in voting process so he can throw out Democrats’ votes.
Try to enjoy Labor Day, anyway.

President Donald Trump also amplified the result, posting a screenshot of the election projection to Truth Social without comment. Russian presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev subsequently shared a screenshot of Trump’s post while hailing a “historic win for the pragmatic AfD”. The AfD has pushed for stronger ties to the U.S. and Russia while calling for Germany to end support for Ukraine and for Ukrainians to lose refugee status. The NAZI's are all on the same page!
There should be a 100% tax on any personal wealth over 50 million dollars. Allowing one person to buy elections in any country or state he chooses cannot be allowed to continue, democracy will not survive.
According to Red Right Daily dot com, only C-Span is covering the whole convention and the GOP is giving away tickets to try to fill seats. (Not a liberal site.) Unless Trump has the money to pay thousands of people to warm seats, there will be camera shots of acres of empty seats. (Not to mention the chance for counterprogramming. Fox is doing partial coverage. The other networks are streaming the event. Trump is charging Republican congress-critters 25-K to show up. Charging, not paying.
The key thing to watch is whether the GOP can't fill seats. If there's massive empty seats when Trump is speaking, that says that voters won't show up to vote for the GOP while the GOP is a rubber-stamp for Trump policies. And they've been more spineless than Democrats in Congress. That's some major Gumby there.
I'm not sure how over-the-top the GOP efforts to steal the election will be. I do not think they will succeed, but how far will they try to go? Armed poll watchers? National Guard? Actual shooting in the cities to frighten voters? I am saying I don't know. I will vote early to reduce the chance of a shooting incident.
